When I try to log on, it gets stuck in Verifying Protocol Version. Any suggestions? I have tried uninstalling, and reinstalling etc. Nothing it working. Please help.

Have you downloaded the latest version?

What type of internet service do you have?

Are you on a network? Wired or wireless?

Do you have anti-virus or firewalls?

Is there a proxy involved?

Have you called the support number?

Yes, I have downloaded the lastest version.

It is DSL I think. I am on wired right now, because the wireless at this house doesn't work for me. But, Second Life works on the wireless down the street. I have no idea why.

My firewall is configured to allow Second Life. I emailed support, but...

Can you help?

Are you using a shortcut that bypasses the startup screen where you enter your name?

Have you tried changing the login location?

Try disabling your firewall and see if that works.

Try disabling anti-virus and see if that works.

Someone more knowledgeable about this stuff than I am needs to step in here.

What kind of video card? This is not at your living quarters?
