I heard that Philip said he wanted to talk with my little green friend, Khamon, during the phone-in talk show yesterday. Can someone offer context to this? I'm not sure if I need to feel worried for Khamon... Or jealous of him.

Philip just said that Khamons 'standard excuse' answers to people's submitted questions in Lordfly's thread were hilarious and that he hoped he called in :)

*giggles* I felt sorry for Phil on that. Many of us have names that are just difficult to pronounce;) And then there are the last names... *snickers* They made up the list, but forgot to add an pronounication chart with them!

So, since thats that, for the remainder of the thread, I suggest we help Phil out with pronounciations. But to make it more interesting, we should spell out the pronounciation for the previous poster :p

So, starting with Raudf Fox there, thats :

Ray - OOh - Duh - Phfff // F - Orcs

:p :p

Edit: Or it would have been if PHHf - Eeen - Teh // Mee - Stair - Hull hadn't posted while I was!

Actually, most people call me Cayman. I suppose it's a more natural pronunciation that Khamon which a contraction of Kha and Amon and said khaa-mhaan with two short a sounds. Foolish youth prompted me to create a persona named Ruler of Gods; but it's been my online ID for so long, I just keep using it.

Teaching prevented me from participating in the hall; but my understanding is that Philip is too busy talking with <insert vague allusion to mainland rental baron> these days for me to be demanding his attention. Tell you what Philip, send me an email and I'll be glad to discuss this idea further.

Actually, I just put my pronounciation of a the first name as my forum title;)

ra-ow-th - Mangled word from another language meaning- Red - female adj. Mangled entirely because my Windows and keyboard aren't set up to handle the last letter.

*bites tongue on the F- Orcs because this is /supposed/ to be a g-rated forum*

I always thought your name was a play on words and was supposed to sound like "common fate".

Well I actually grasped the Kha-Amon contraction-it happens when you have dated a died in the wool egyptologist. Of course I would go with Ra-Amon, which is of course contracted as Ramen, which is the food of the gods in its natural form of Top Ramen. LOL

Jake is of course pronounced with a long a, and a silent e.

My archer in Asheron's Call was named Kharrow and I named the mule Khaloset (pronouced closet) get it? mule = closet?. Jarod called him kay-lo-set ha ha ha what a goober.

Oh and there was the dagger type that I'd recreated so many times I finally dubbed her Kharrot after Alice's little budgy that kept dying but coming back to life. Spare Head Three broke the pattern; you know how independent those trade bots like to be.

Wow, I think you just broke the record for the most obscure references in a post. Unless I'm missing something. Was that a Red Dwarf reference?

The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better?
