This thread seems to violate the rules of posting asking "why was my thread closed" / "why did I receive a warning".

on a techinicality i think that ll is stretching things there, and i'm really disappointed with the resmod that flagged it.

lektor wasn't talking about why he got a warning. nor was he appealing it.

he was criticizing ll for wasting time on doing a bad job moderating the forums when there are more pressing things out there.

ll should just say, "don't say bad things about us or our decisions."

I agree ... we are crossing into the grounds of being prohibited to speak about disciplinary actions. I read the thread again and really see only a "ranting" not questions being asked. While the "ranting" might not be appreciated ~ it did not bring up the topic from the former post and it did not question the reasons for the action that was taken.

Honestly, if the posting rules are changing - someone needs to write a handbook for us ...

One thing to remember is that Resmods cannot edit posts. We are tasked with closing a thread that is in question of violation if we think it has come to that point, and then letting a Linden make the final ruling. So often a thread will be closed after many ARs are submitted stating the same violation. At the same time, we are supposed to give a reason why we are closing the thread. This is both a good and bad thing. Good because you don't ever have to worry about anyone other than a Linden editing your posts, but bad because one or two posts *can* get an entire thread shut down. Even if for a small bit of time.

... or forever in this case for a bullshit interpretation of TOS/CS.

Simplest solution is to treat these forums as READ ONLY, just peruse the Linden ANNOUNCEMENTS threads only, and only post to the SLUNIVERSE forums instead.

Stupid. Not you -- the whole program. You're tasked to close threads that maybe in violation -- that might be -- that could be -- that, well, YOU THINK IS, or else you wouldn't have closed it.

The thread in question shouldn't have been closed by YOU or the LINDEN who also misinterpreted it.

Bullshit. Shinanigans! I cry shinanigans! Shinanigans!

I agree - was gonna ask why - but figured that would one of those 'your questioning our judgement' posts and would be closed :P

But eh - tex gots them an itchy triggerfinger nowadays..

Then again I see shit moved to off-topic all the time that's clearly about Second Life and obvervations of SecondLife...

I guess my 'give a shit' just done up and busted.

This is debatable. The mod can only do what they think is right and, if wrong, it is an unconvenience. However, the entirety of the permanent lockage falls on LL. While anyone may have interpreted the TOS differently as applied to the thread in question, LL made the call.

However, repeated beratings may make the RMs gunshy, and I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

of course it's debatable. it's my opinion. i'd be worried if ya'll went with my opinions.
however, it isn't simply "ll makes the final decision". it's the power to place the decision before ll in the first place.
