I have already submitted my proposal to eliminate the chat bar popup after first usage. Does this annoy anyone else ? Frequently I have to reclick my mouse or wiggle it to make that stupid popup go away while typing text in the chat bar.

I believe that you can disable this popup on your preference dialog. Look under the Chat and Popups tabs.
When I chat, I never get the popup you describe.

It's pretty standard stuff, hitting enter. Almost a reflex for those who have to admit a lot of chatting.

I think they're talking about when you push enter, the chat bar comes up. It does get annoying, but I push Esc after I am done talking to close it. This has become a very bad habit for me, as I talk in other IM programs, I push it and it closes the conversation.

Sam I tried this once and it didn't work. I'll try again. Live Help told me one time that that pop up could not be disabled. |

There is a option in the Options panel that can change the chat bar so it closes when you hit enter after typing. Then hit enter again to bring it back so you can type again. I prefer just to keep the thing open at all times. Makes it easier to speak my mind hehe.

I just ended up flying all over the place by accident whenever I tried to type because I'm used to it staying up.

Uninstall, make sure the Second Life directory is gone, Reinstall. You should only get nagged by these popups once the first time you do something.

Do you mean the hover text for the chat button? If so i get this too. It pops up when you hit chat and it overlaps right where you are typing. Covering your text. meh
I think it's shft + ctrl + T to remove hover text. I want the text on myself, just not the chat button stuff right over the chat.

I get it too, but a quick Backspace stroke and it goes away. Other than that, I think turning off ALL your popups is the only way. Not sure if that works for that or not though. Never tried.
