Ok... trying to post an event... here are the parameters...
Land is owned by an individual She IS a friend Land IS over 512m2 Land IS set to HANGOUT (Gathering Place is no longer an option) I AM a member of the group associated with the land.
However.. the land DOES NOT show up when I try to post an event!
Any suggestions on how to rectify this?

I'd try emailing support and filing a bug report.

Check your event post to make sure it contains no double quotes (" anywhere in the listing. If it does, the event post will fail. This is a long-standing bug that still has not yet been fixed.

Also, LL needs to fix the verbage on the page which outlines the rules for events... it still states land must be set as a GATHERING PLACE.... well, Gathering Place is no longer an option!

Liaisons are buzzing about a variety of related issues to this--I've got this thread aggregated as we investigate further to find out what's wrong, and how we can fix it. Changing "Gathering Place" to "Hangout" in the Event Posting Rules is also known about and will be done, ASAP. Torley, Thank you for the response. It's nice to know that the issue is getting at least *some* attention. If it helps at all, the parcel in question is called Tringo Heaven in the sim Hooktip. I dont hve the actual co-ords since I'm not in game, but it's approx 326M in the air. Dont know if this issue is related to MY account or to the parcel... but would REALLY like to get it fixed so I can continue to host events at a place I enjoy

Geddy, this isn't tied to any specific parcels or accounts. It affects me too--looks like all of the 512 m2 and over parcels owned by my Friends and listed as "Hangout" aren't showing up. My theory is it may have to do with wording internally not being changed from "Gathering Place" ---> "Hangout" to reflect the new change. Haven't confirmed this, but we do know about it so, it'll hopefully be fixed soon.

I have always found the random land list to choose from when posting an event to be a huge problem. I have no idea why it has picked these random 20 or so locations in my drop down menu, meanwhile I cannot actually pick the location I want to.

I posted about this yesterday as well.. through some trial and error we found that the only available land parcels showing in the drop down menu for event postings were parcels of land that had been 'deeded' to a group of which you were a member.
It wasn't enough that the land was 'set' to a specific group, but if the land was 'deeded' to the group, it would then show on the available list of land parcels for event postings.

Yes, per the Event Posting Rules: "The parcel is owned by a group that you are a member of, and is at least 512 square meters."
Group-owned means the land has to be deeded. Just to clarify; sorry for any confusion!

This seems to make an Event Coordinator's life rather cumbersome, since I can't expect every land owner for which I work to deed the land to me simply so I can post events. Is there a straightforward (and low risk) way to do this otherwise? Am I missing something?
