I'm trying to put together a regularly occurring Machinima series that will be viewable by people in SL, and that takes place in SL. I'm thinking about doing a CSI style show, in that it's a modern-day cop drama that isn't afraid to tackle some of the "thornier" issues in SL. One of the things that's bugging me, though, is that I'm not sure what level of "reality" I want the show to operate in. Should it take place in an environment that accurately represents the SL world (A person is "griefed" in an unsafe zone, the detectives TP in, call up the properties of the shell casing objects left behind to find the owner of the weapon, use some debug commands to locate them, and file a report with the Lindens to "bring them to justice" , one that is more RL-representative (Someone is killed - it doesn't matter where, the detectives drive up, have to use science to determine the killer, and follow through on a successful prosecution), or some hybrid of the two? What do you think would appeal best to viewing audiences? Something that's consistent with an existing worldview, or an amalgam? Any help you can give me on what you'd find fun to watch on your shiny new SL TVs would be greatly appreciated...
