What happened to them putting it in as an option? I'm hoping its in there somewhere and i'm just blind.

annoying... but:
view -> show HUD attachments
(I think the intent is to allow the HUD attachments to be "filmed" for machinima. Why threr can't be a "hide HUD attachments in snapshots" I'm not sure.)

Yeah PITA for me too! A better way to hide HUDs is still in the development queue--looks like tentatively, part of a larger project to enhance snapshots. But that's very sketchy right now and I'm not confirming it until I get more details.
