So I 'm just curious...
How mant Linden avatars are there? And is "Joe Linden" a discrete individual, or a rotating shift of LL people filling certain roles?
I'd guess that the top-level Lindens are individuals, but what about lower-level Lindens that get bugged about land maintenance issues and so forth? Each one their own person, or staff member who drew the short straw?
Hope you Lindens have a good day, however many there are of you. Almost seems like a cool job....

I thought this was going to ask how many Lindens it takes to change a lightbulb. I don't know the answer to that, though. I know that Ben Linden is for real.

With the exception of Governor Linden, and a couple 'special event' Lindens (like cupid linden and the easter bunny), they're all individual people.

The forum members list "Search Members" results for search term "Linden" appears to return 279 forum registered Lindens. Members List Last Page of Linden searchLet the cursor linger over the 10 underneath the Z on the right to see the count of records returned. There are a number of names on the order of "Test Linden" and such. I think this only returns forum registrations. There might be Lindens missing because they never found a reason to use the forums. Ulrika's name and key database just returned 134 results for Linden. Using the inworld find people for A Linden, B Linden, etc. gives the following results a 5 b 13 c 11 d 12 e 4 f 1 g 4 h 4 i 3 j 14 k 4 l 10 m 14 n 5 o 0 p 8 q 0 r 9 s 12 t 9 u 0 v 4 w 3 x 2 y 2 z 1 This sums to 154 Lindens. There might be others with non-alphabetic first characters in the first name.

From: moo Money I thought this was going to ask how many Lindens it takes to change a lightbulb. I don't know the answer to that, though. Lindens don't change lightbulbs, they just add "Change Lightbulb" to the BLOTTD. Again. In the dark. Jus' sayin'.

They finally got the new script function i want added in! llChangeLightbulb(key socket, integer brightness, string owner) No more unlinking the bulb from the socket, deleting the old one, rezzing a new one, positioning correctly, and then linking together. Now i can just make a bot that goes along and happily changes all my lightbulbs for me. LL, you're the best

Type Linden into the people find screen, Uncheck the "online" box, Search, then count, and you will have your answer.
Did you really need Forum help with that?

Just to help out in the search for 'real' Lindens:
Pony Linden is not a real pony.

From: Angelique LaFollette Type Linden into the people find screen... That doesn't work; the inworld people search only returns one hundred results when you do this. Searching for "A Linden", "B Linden", "C Linden", etc. as described above yields a total of 154 Lindens.

Angel. Actually, I was more curious about the second part of my question. Is there just one poor "Guy Linden" who has to run around, patching all the potholes, cleaning up Linden Land, etc. And taking weird questions like mine? Max-

Max- I can remember one occasion in which Philip Linden took over the Governor Linden account in which to fiddle with the art cube at the circular pad at the end of the boardwalk at the old Ahern-Morris Welcome Area (i.e., the good Welcome Area). I imagine other people will be able to report other instances of use of the Governor Linden account by other avatars.
