I'm just curious if anyone has run into the max number of residents you can mute in SL I am currently hovering at 65,535. (saving that last one in case I run into someone I need to mute really fast they are so obnoxious_)

From: Lianne Marten How on earth did you count them? You can mute from profile, i think. So you would just need to search all the names and mute each one on the list. You could prbly get quite a few done each day that way.

From: Lianne Marten How on earth did you count them? The list of people you have muted is stored in the cache folder, with a filename that looks like 2dfedda4-6a19-495f-8889-9f46ecawsdd5.cached_mute. The data iinside looks like: From: someone 012ab03d-e386-6612-9e09-a9ae718459f8 Av1firstname Av1lastname| ca8ded13-49df-4366-93ac-d6e4ded7ce5f Av2First Av2Last|
The first big string of gibberish is their key, encrypted by XORing each byte with 3, if I remember right, then first name, last name, and I believe that is a vertical pipe symbol at the end of each line. Open that file in a text editor like SciTE and the number of lines is the number of people in your muted file.

Regardless of the maximum value the number might be from the point of view of whether it is a two byte integer or limited by the amount of memory allocated to hold the list or whatnot, I don't think you could mute more people than are in, have been in, or will be in the userbase, so that would be an absolute limit.
