I have been harrassed constantly for 5 days in a row and nothing has happened. The person responsible is clearly identified in the abuse report. requests for a witness have fallen on deaf ears, I guess there is no remedy for somone who simply wishes to have a home and be left alone to enjoy it.

Sorry to hear it, Keen. If you have land, you can ban them from it... that, and mute them, and keep sending the AR's. It sucks to have to put up with it, but it's a lot like bullies in RL... if they don't get any reaction, they eventually get bored and go away. Good luck, I hope things improve for you soon!

If this is on your land: 1. Turn damage on 2. slap him with an autokill nonphysical attack 3. turn damage off

From: Phoenix Psaltery Good way to get AR'd yourself. Bad advice. P2 Damage enabled = can't be ared for killing someone as its a combat zone. The heart at the top is your warning. Good advice.

You can teleport them home if it's your land through lsl. And yes teleporting them home would confuse the average griefer and deter them from launching a counter attack (which happens if you eject them).

Just a note to remind everyone, if you are suffering a griefing attack, these are the steps you should take: 1. If you are on your own land, add the attackers name to the Ban List through the About Land window. You may also be able to right-click the attacker and choose Freeze from the pie menu that appears. 2. If not your land, ask the landowner to ban the attacker from the land. 3. If the weapons they are using are pushing you around or up into the air, right-click the ground or an object and Sit Here. 4. File an Abuse Report from your Help menu at the top of your screen. Be sure to note the attackers name, and where the attack took place. Usually, if you choose View PvP Abuse, the attackers name will be listed. 5. If the attack continues, contact an on-shift liaison for help. You can find Linden staff using your Find window (click the Find button at the bottom and search for the surname Linden on the People tab).

Jeska, currently the biggest weakness in the AR system is the fact that you only get an entry in the 'View PVP Abuse' list if you are in the same sim as when the abuse happened. This instantly makes the largest abuses harder to punish, and harder to even figure out WHO did it.
Is there any way after some of the current "community outrage" issues are dealt with that Linden Lab can prioritize decoupling the automated abuse report from the sim you are in? It would be very nice if these AR entries were on a GAURENTEED delivery system independant from where your avatar is in world.
Please use TCP for sending them too.

That's why they're getting rid of PvP abuse lists/PvP AR's completely in 1.10.5. Now, if you don't personally know your attacker, don't even bother. I suppose the remedy is to "ask the community who did it" and then "have a talk with the griefer".

That's weird, Seronis. I've had times when a grief-bombing has thrown me several sims away to the point that my client forgot which attachments I was wearing, but I could still view the PVP abuse and file a report. That's been a while though. The last few times, I've been sitting on a prim and it didn't phase me.

From: Phedre Aquitaine Please tell me this is sarcasm. it isn't. Pushing/bombing etc is now anonymous, along with signups. On the "upside", abuse reports should go down some.

That's been a while though. The last few times, I've been sitting on a prim and it didn't phase me. It depends on how lucky you are which events get processed first. If the pvp abuse gets processed BEFORE the sim you are in releases control of your avatar you get it. But if the sim processes the "avatar left sim" event BEFORE the abuse you're out of luck. The system needs fixed so that these messages are processed GLOBALLY. So that if you teleport to an island you still recieve the message. Honestly this may be why its removed in preview. The first step of COMPLETELY replacing a feature with a better one requires you to REMOVE the old API calls that use the discontinued version. After you ensure there are no bugs with the feature removed can you install the new one. Dont jump to judgement just because abuse reporting is not currently present in the preview. The current 'preview's purpose might be to make sure they didnt break anything or accidentaly leave behind any relic parts of the old system.

Probably the same one that allows anonymous adults to get onto the Teen Grid and "troll for dates". I'm very very frightened about the future of SL. It almost seems like they are trying to chase us off.

On the "upside", abuse reports should go down some. Seems to me that LL needs to change the name from Second Life to 'Grieferville'. They obviously WANT these assclowns here. They seem to be doing everything possible to accomodate them. LL has made it easier for them to join, and harder to identify and report them. It also seems to take them MONTHS to get rid of the ones they DO identify. I suspect that the ones that DO get banned are ONLY banned to make it look like they care about the problem. *Sigh*, I used to have faith in LL that they were trying their best to make SL a great place to be, and that they cared about the residents. Unfortunately all they REALLY seem to care about is money.

From: Drizzt Naumova Kinda makes sense since they are trying to make it open source to the rl biz market, aka google etc One theory: They are going to opensource and/or license SL and have people host their own servers. Then security will be their problem or no problem at all since they will control who has access. People will be encouraged to move to private servers or "buy the island". I have no idea what their plans for the mainland are. They know all the problems this open registration is causing, I'm sure of it. They obviously have decided that opening the doors and getting the numbers up trumps everything else. Why is the question. Investors? The next move in the "3d web" plan? Your guess is as good as mine. *shrug* (I was bumped several times trying to get somewhere to a very large new island sim called "Korea1", btw. It was a city sim, still being built, with Korean everywhere. Anyone know about this? I couldn't landmark it.)
