If you made it public in the forums you want everyone to know what something is happening, and want to discuss it with the rest of the community this problem or issue, Sure edit the names, but i see no reason for the lindens to be closing threads that can be discussed with out damaging someone or a group.
And no this is not me bragging about other threads being closed, this is just something that i thought of, that i think its stupid.
