Should land sales options become more inclusive in their exclusivity?

My first "new" thread here so pardon if do not have a firm handle on the proprieties of such, or whether this topic had been raised before now.

To the point, the land sales system as provided by LL already allows the ultimate level of exclusion in so far as whom can buy a parcel of land one places up for sale, by allowing one to actually name the person whom one wishes to sell to, to the exclusion of all else.

My thoughts are, would it be possible to include a list option on the same tab so that one could, if they so chose, include a list of people they'd rather _not_ sell to?

I'd envision it as something of a inclusive list of potential buyers that one would rather _not_ see in possession of a property. Seeing as how exclusion of sale seems implicitly ok in that LL has already included the option of being able to limit the sale of a parcel to one particular individual, would it not then also follow that it would be proper and useful to allow a less specifically exclusive model as well?

I could see where this might be handy in so far as the 'bush signs' problem (in particular when coupled with the recent announcement by LL to suspend the use of Paypal as a identification form during the account creation process, there by limiting "in theory" the number of Alt accounts one might create) as well as other scenarios in which one might wish to limit the ability to buy a specific parcel to prevent harassment or griefing by one or more individuals.

Sorry if this has been brought up before I hadn't seen where it has been.

I'd go for it, but I doubt LL would implement such an option.

If someone was on the do-not-sell list, couldnt they just use an alt to buy the land, then transfer it on accordingly? Your not going to know the name of that alt in advance either - so banning it might prove difficult.

Yes more than possible, quite likely in fact. I can however foresee a ban list limiting the options of a person or persons who has reached their alloted alt quota (hence my mention of the new LL policy towards paypal in account creation in my previous post) and said alts are known. Perhaps even delineating by group as well as individual? To mayhap limit certain "land holding" groups from purchasing?

That said I realize such a bit of functionality can be circumvented, but that it might be shouldn't limit its implementation when its existence may well provide, if not some small measure of good, then perhaps some small level of deterrence. Then again, was a passing thought whilst showering this morn and may well be utter tripe, figured couldn't hurt to toss it out and see what others thought. ^.^

It may possibly lead to a more "organic" process of sale. For example, offline, when my Dad (when he was still alive) was selling real estate, he'd have someone over to lunch to make "a big deal" and get to know their character, look 'em in the eye, handshake and all that. Landselling in SL can be pretty anonymous, and click—it's DONE so quickly! This has many conveniences, but for some, you DO want to know your land is going to "a good home", like a pet, as funny as that sounds.

Needless to say, I wouldn't mind a more relaxed process as a choice for selling land. If Resis could hold integrated auctions or take various offers on a parcel inworld too, that'd be a boon.
