Wow What You Can Find By Googling Somebody....

Today I was minding my business at weapons testing sandbox, when some of the people was complaining about this guy being a dumbsh!t and grieging everybody and that he had cause the sim to lagg out several times. so being curious I kinda watched the guy for a little bit, and decided ok this guy is a total moron. I opened his profile and scrolled his groups, low and behold he is a security person at a well know club. I didnt do nothing right away but he procedded to orbit me for doing to him what he had been doing to other, being a annoying lil turd. (basically I was humping his head) Well he orbited me and my antiorbitor kicked in and I sat on a prim and waited for him to get off his and kicked him to the edge of the sim, no not orbit but kick.

Well he Imed me and informed me he was reporting me for this, I told him well I should report you for orbiting me but hey it was all in fun. He wouldnt give insisted on reporting me. So I ignored him continued to enjoy the people and conversation until I needed to logg off and do some R/L stuff. I get back online abut three hours later and head to the sandbox to see if I can pick up and knowledge from the people there. Guess who was there said person, well I ignored him until he just got plain obnoxious and contacted the Lindens because somebody at the sandbox was giving him a taste of his own medicine. Immediatly after the Lindens left he got real cocky with everybody so once again instead of dealing with it I took the initiative and kick him across the sim again.

This time he ims me and gets all cocky about how he is going to get me a nice little vacation from the game. Then proceeds to tell me ohhh I see you have payment info on hand, at this point Im just dying cause I knew he was gonna say he was going to hack SL and get my CC and run up a bill. Only thing before he could I offered to give him the CC number because what I use for SL is a prepaid card, just for times like these! Well next thing I know a friend IM's me sayin so and so sent this and pasted a message in room chat with the guy giving out my address and my real life name. Not that I really care its just the fact he claimed to be the perfect citizen and live by the rules and then goes and does that!

I reported the incident and contacted live help and a linden and was informed to report and the live helper tped to me which at that time I was standing infront of the person while he was afk. He came back and started talking trash until he saw the live helper and then poofed.

If this isnt disturbing and just plain errie i dont know what is! but in case youare wondering I have no porb with people knowing where I live haha all you have to do is ask and I will tell.


Let me know how and what you think about the situation. I personally have the means of tracking this guy everywhere he goes, but I choose not to because then I stoop to his level and I am not going to do that. Oh on more thng IM me in game and I will give you his name!

The question is.. Can I find home made porno by googling you? The world wants to know!

Anyway, I agree with you on not caring who knows who you are or where you live. I've been on-line for ten years now and I've never hidden my RL identity in any of the places I've been and I've never had a single problem because of it.

I know that some people have, but for the most part I think that people are a bit too paranoid about people finding out who they are, particularly in SL.

I dont think its paranoid in every case. I'm very careful about my RL identity for the same reasons I'm careful about going down dark alleys or making sure I lock my doors at night.

I'm a woman and I have children. I can't afford to assume that someone I meet online isn't a complete nutjob with the potential to show up at my door. I have been in online communities for years also but in all the years a grand total of three people have ever known my full name.
A woman I met three years ago in a chat service and it was only after a whole year that we exchanged names and phone numbers and now are still friends.
A man who got the information through other means and used it to phone stalk me and frighten me.
The man I am involved with and love now but again only after a very long waiting period of knowing him and knowing all his information first.

Maybe I am paranoid but I feel safer and happier and more free in my paranoia.

And yes LL most definately better ban him for this, that should not be acceptable at all.

I guess sandboxes are cheaper to maintain than a whole teen grid.

Im not sure how to take this CJ..either your implying I am a teen (which I wish I was a teen again just because I had so much fun, but I am far from teen years but not ancient yet!)

I sympathise with you Ryan, but whenever I see these disputes I invariably see more than one "child" involved... Maybe it's just me, but I just can't see any mature, intelligent adult having anything whatsoever to do with them. Sure you got griefed by a jerk. AR and just... walk... away. Most adults would realise there is absolutely nothing to be gained by interacting in any way with idiots like this, let alone "being a annoying lil turd" (your words) back at them yourself.

Aside form his original annoyance, the entire course of events you describe happened because you chose to interact with him subsequently.

Cj not sure how often you visit weapons testing but its a unwrtten rule that if you grief/annoy somebody without their consent you consent to being retaliated against. But you are right that me responding to him just fueled his fire, under normal circustances I just laugh and go about my business but this guy pushed the right button and I couldnt help but to fire back. Tho that isnt a excuse just a reason.

As for the mature intelligent adult statement..I am not a genius by no means but I am fairly knowledgeable on several topics. I attempted the AR and just...walk ...away approach before and the response I got was the annoying turd kept following me and trying to get me fired up until I just logged on my alt and made this guy look like a complete idiot.

i respect you opinion just dont totally agree sometimes its more than just black and white, sometimes its red and yellow or purple and brown. I deal with all cases on a first hand basis. IMO this guy deserved what me and several others did to him. He just coulndt take it and whined and cried to the Lindens.

watch out, since he knows your CC, name, address, and with a little bit of social engineering, he could call up LL and pretend to have lost the password, no acess to email .. confirm address/name/cc and take over you account.

Well I recieved the Offical response from LL yesterday and I checked the Police Blotter today and nothing seems to have happened to the individual. Something needs to be done with this person, I know he filed multiple AR's against me for kicking him across the sim, and If I have to take a 3-day break fine.

As in all prior AR's it seems LL dropped the ball on this one. This IMO opens the door for people to stalk other residents and give personal info out without having to worry about getting in trouble!

This is a fine example of the Lindens saying report it and it will be dealt with and then you see nothing happen! Why because they want to protect all parties involved? Should I have to wonder if something happened to the guy or should I atleast be able to check the police blotter and see some sort of action indicating he was sealt with?

I guess because I said I dont care if people know who I am in RL gave this guy the right to tell everybody. No I dont care if you know my RL name and where I live but I want to be the one to tell you, not a jackass that got pissed because he got what he deserved when attacking people for no reason and couldnt get anything more from the Linden Liasons than you guys play fair and no orbiting.

I will be keeping my ear to the ground and waiting for this person to show his face. Once I see him it will be open season and I wont be the only one with a grudge to setlle!

I hate to point it out to you, but YOU have your RL name and location on at least your SL ME page. Its really not tough to figure everything out from there.

Very true Miles, if you know to look on SL.ME.com for that than fine, but to go and give information out in game is a violation of the TOS. i dont care if people know who I am and where I live, I do care if you or smebody else feels the need to tell people without my permission. I give permission for my info to be given out on the third party sites.



Let me ask this was it ok for him to attempt to change my PW on my gmail account? Was it ok for him to tell people my address and RL name? Yes if you look at SL.ME you can get this info but he took it a step futher and proceeded to tell people in world!

Oodlemi none of my friends told him anything! They brought that he waited for me to leave and then he went to everybody and gave the info to my attention. He didnt have the nuts to do it while I was there!

Thx for the thought Wrom but LL has a system in place that prevents this, I know because I changed my pw and forgot it and had to call them and it took me a bit to remember the PW you have to give them to access your account so they can change the login PW. Hopefully they gladded my account to require all security measures be fulfilled before any changes are made.

Ok I guess I missed somethin in all that. I know nothing bout sl-me or whatever but I do tell people how to find me on myspace through my profile if they are so desperate to know. So far I only know of one person lookin for me there.
