Should LL do an update that is nothing but bug fixes?

Quite honestly, my personal opinion is yes, but I would like to know what everyone else thinks. Should LL put a hold on new features for 1 or 2 weeks and just fix some bugs with the updates, clean up from the massive scramble of features they have been adding and make the game more usable for the customers.

Only if it can be done as a rolling update, instead of the current 'don't even try to log on most of Wednesday, you're fsckd' update.

I think this latest update was just a defect fix up.

This update was a bug fix update. Last week's update was one too. Just because it was a "bug fix" update doesn't mean they aren't going to introduce new bugs.

No they added new mute features and scripting changes this update, I mean total updates where there are no new additions, just complete bug fixes, if you look at the release notes, all you will see is bug fixes: blah blah blah

In my opinion are we really gaining anything with these updates other than pain and suffering and more bugs. Stop introducing new features when the main feature that is needed is playability.

From: Kelly Linden

From a quick look at the patch notes:
/3/b0/126451/1.html

I see:
33 Bug fixes
6 'Other things':
1 new LSL call for a promised feature
1 new constant for use with an existing LSL call
The re-enabling of a lost feature, albeit with a different short cut. (Should this be classified as a bug fix too then?)
The renaming of a menu item
A new right click option on landmarks

AND ...

'Asset compression expanded to cover objects' which is a back end feature that will reduce the rate at which our asset servers are filling up. This is a critical feature so that we can keep up with the content being created in world.

Fixing bugs *does* mean down time, it *does* mean patches.
:D

Please vote for proposition 700 and help putting more pressure on Linden to concentrate on the bugs ONLY.

I wouldn't mind the downtime as long as it was dedicated bug fixes.

I've been saying take the features programmers and put them on bug fixes for months. But really, thanks for noticing..

Lindens are on the love-work system. You'll be hard pressed to make them fix something that's not bugging them.
I'm a Linux client user, I can afford cynicysm.
