NOW what? I have kept myself OFF the grid since the day before the patch was released...have NOT installed the new client...and have NOT agreed to the new ToS...and I contacted a friend this morning to check my profile and my cc billing information used info is ON MY PROFILE....that is NOT supposed to be there until I install the new patch and agree to the new Tos, right? Grrrrrrrrrrr...........

What I am pissed about is that ANY kind of information about someone's card being publicly displayed...and ESPECIALLY for the reason given...WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT ....is total BS...it was NOT supposed to be displayed UNTIL I downloaded and installed the new patch and agreed to the new ToS......so no, Karsten....YOU get over it!

I don't recall myself, but did the TOS actually mention the "billing info used" change in the profiles anywhere? I understood that to be a seperate issue from the TOS changes, which as I recall involved notifying us that information would be gathered from our computers. It really isn't reasonable to expect LL to hold back a change applied to every single profile in the system. My guess is that there are thousands of accounts that haven't been logged in in months. Are they supposed to hold back changes to those too? _____________________

The ToS has ALWAYS had the disclaimer that ALL property (and that includes your avie and any information to it) are property of LL. It also states that LL can change anything for any reason at any time.
If you joined SL, and accepted any ToS, then you agreed to this. I agree that this information should not be used in this way, but i fyou're looking for a legal standpoint, you have no grounds. ~Jessy _____________________

What's the problem? So your profile says you have a verified credit card. Whoopde-do. You do realize that you're actually more likely to have your credit card info stolen when you go out to eat, than when you use it online, right?
There is *no* billing info being displayed. It only shows that LL HAS info and that it's been sucessfully verified. Go hang out at your local Best Buy, or Circuit City, or whatever and you'll SEE people sucessfully using credit cards. And, more than you can get from SL, you'll have faces to go with them! Hell you could then follow them to their homes and get their address! Oh dear, let's demand curtains around every register! They should make a law about this! _____________________
