A screenshot I took of me and Matadiola Hathor on a motorcycle turned up in a Belgian newspaper article. Was just wondering who the other two ladies depicted in the second photo were!

Ahhh mystery solved, I thought that looked like you, Wuvme! Mata passed the pic onto me, and she got it from a Belgian friend of hers here. So, we're world famous huh? Lol! :p

Is there any credit given for the pictures? Otherwise, the newspaper stole the images with no credit given. So much for good journalism.

I'm not sure about the credits Christiano, I'm not in posession of the original article, and since my Dutch is non-existent as a second language, I would'nt know if they were there or not lol! :)

I was just thinking the same thing--glad you brought this up. I'll also point out that Linden Lab has an irrevocable license to use resident-created content for the purposes of promoting Second Life, so the pics could have been supplied under that license. I'm not sure if the TOS covers crediting the author. But you'd think a good newspaper would seek out the identity of the "photographer."

I did not speak with this reporter and did not give him any images so I suspect he must have gotten them directly from Snapzilla.

As a rule, we do try to credit when we supply images for stories, though they aren't always used.

There are no credits mentioned in the part of the article displayed.

Heading: Voor echt geld koop je een virtueel leven : For real money you buy a virtual life.
Oh and it also mentions a subscription is 10US. Apparently didn't know about the free basic accounts.

If somebody knows the name of the newspaper, and the date, I can see if i can get a copy ;)

Interesting point is brought up. Maybe there's no photographer credit because there was no photographer. It was a graphic, taken either by a screen shot or downloaded from somewhere else. I know that many times newspapers will take graphic items (usually logos) and use them without credit. Also, I'm not sure of Dutch journalism conventions.

In any case, welkome, Nederlandse mensen!

They also mentioned something about chip midnight.

For real money You can live virtual

Good news for those that always loved The Sims. On-linespel the Second life look that you - virtually - can live and build. Done with the daily werkstress, cumbersome teachers or unpleasant mothers.
You pay ten dollars to linden Lab, the maker of the game, and have left you. Its own virtual persoontje can knead you to your wishes: a beetje magerder or more muscular, what fuller lips or a thicker bosom. The possibilities are infinite. In contrast to other large multiplayer games such as World or Warcraft or EverQuest there are here no real aims of reaching. You must build simply an everyday life such as that in real the also case are. For lapje ground of 512 square meters you two pay dollars and a monthly contribution of 9.95 dollar. Those payments form immediately also the main income of linden Lab.

You build a house and start your own virtual bedrijfje on. He who no sense has to put the hands from the sleeves, buys ordinary is dream villa on sites.

Real money exchange for virtual spulletjes therefore? But it goes further then that. Because why you would not deserve also immediate real money with your virtual bedrijfje? Chip Matthews weet of it in advance everything. He provides cybermensjes with the desired skin colour or clothing and deserves with that thousand dollars per month. , some people do not get the concept of pay for virtual goods. But I think in the same way concerning people who spend their money to an idiot golf trousers.' '

Island for patients

John bought previous year more lester, director of the information technology at an American hospital, virtual privé-eiland for little thousand dollars. Then he, leaves people who to suffer from the Asperger syndrome with each other communicates. Normally have these patients a high form of autisme, as a result of which social interaction is not possible, I have them contacts see laying such as them that never previously did. If they are ready, question I them the island to leave and the rest of Second life to explore explain '', more lester. If there improve the patients also in real living of become, he has not told at.
