I am kinda new too. But it's easy to figure out. Most things in your GUI you can mouse over and see what it does, also inworld. Just play around with the buttons and have fun...just remember that there's no "UNDO" button in SL sadly.
You can also ask a Live Helper about getting someone to come a show you the ropes. They might do it themselves or suggest a name of someone else. Help > Live Help LOL |

Kitten & Thorne - there's really something for everyone here - whether you want to be creative, or you wish to be social.
-The "Find" menu is your friend for finding things to do, or places to visit. -Just pick a spot on the map & start flying around! Above all - if you're overwhelmed at first, that's totally normal. But give it a week - you'll find yourself getting acclimated rather quickly ![]() Good Luck! ![]() _____________________

Travis is too modest to promote the Shelter but I don't have to avoid mentioning it.
"the Shelter" is Travis Lambert place for fun with an emphasis on helping and welcoming new members. You are unlikely to go wrong dropping by the Shelter. The New Citizens Group , NCI, is a good group to join to ask questions at. I have invited you to join, and you have now accepted. You can ask whatever you want on that group's chat channel, it is possible to get how to info, they have a headquarters with free stuff. If you need help from a member of the Second Life Mentors you can use the Help menu, Live Help option, and ask the Linden staff member who should be monitoring the Live Help to send a message to the mentor group. Often this can result in a knowledgeable person giving new member an individualized lesson on building or what have you, depending on what the mentor group members are willing to do at the moment. It is interesting that this request for help in the forums comes from someone standing in the welcome area with a liaison and at least one mentor present, and a crowd of people. _____________________
