Res Mods.....people are WAY to harsh on them as people...do they deserve it? No. Does the Res Mod program work? I dunno, but it seems to annoy a lot of people. I've seen a lot of closed/moved threads that maybe shouldn't be. But I think they do thier best and I wouldn't be a Res Mod for all the A$$ or $L in SL.

AgePlay......ALL normal people find the thought of an adult and a child 'boinking' nauseous, but we aren't sure about it in SL.......we have to agree to disagree...IMO if anyone WANTS to 'boink' a child in SL it's a small step from happening in RL because it's in thier head.

Naming names.....I get why it's not ok but WTF, if we can't name names then what the hell are we here for? If Siggy or Aimee gives me shitty service why can't we all know?

FIC....A hot topic, YES I think there IS an FIC, but not how many seem to view it. FIC to me is a group of folks that have been here long enuf to have added a great deal to SL in a positive way. Be it content or info or whatever....don't hack on them 'cuz they beat us to it, just enjoy what they have for us.

Whiners......Those people that come in here ONLY to try to fuck w/ someone else, they should get thier 1 minute of fame...doncha think? And then kill them.

Super Whiners.....Those folks that are notorious for going on and on and fucking on.....well they spend so much time at the keyboard it's gotta pay off eventually.

PG vs M rating.....Ok so the forums are PG? Hehe Yeah as if. If these forums are so offensive to people who would prefer a PG platform I'd suggest NOT reading them. For the most part things are pretty hunkydory here, BUT if an occasional FUCK or SHIT is gonna piss you off I suggest you play in a PG sandbox.

Linden Labs......Say what you will but I'm almost certain that they want shit to work right just as much as we do. So while bitching at them can be very VERY satisfying for a moment, keep in mind that they are humans *gasp* and are PROBABLY trying to make shit work. But I have to add...thier PR about 'here's the place to make big bucks WILL land them on thier ass'.

The $L.....OMGawd too many people are too tied up in the $$ they can make here. If I can cash out $L for $$ I consider myself one lucky gurl. But IF that's your ONLY reason for being here then you will have no fun, and you will reap what you sow.

The forums......I get so much info from all the forums, so while it may be a bed of iniquity it still has it's uses and I'd hate to see it go.

Since there is no handbook for me to consult, could you please confirm or clarify? You are saying that an appropriate thread, posted in the appropriate forum, will be moved to the Off Topic Forum due to the off topic posts within that thread?

Will this thread be moved to the Resmod Forum now that I have asked a question about Resmodding within it?

I'm saying if a thread starts out with a topic, and rapidly moves off topic, with no useful discussion going on, I'll either submit it for Linden Review, or move it to off topic.

Since the picture of, uh, the banana book, there hasn't been a post on topic.

As for it being moved to the ResMod Forum, it won't unless it becomes completely about ResMods, like it was completely Off-Topic.

However, if you have problems with statements, actions etc, PLEASE PM me so as not to derail threads.

Thank you. Should a personal problem arise, I will utilize private messaging. In this case, however, I was not addressing you as a private person but was rather in your public personna as a resmod and prefer that your interpretation be available for public review if for no other reason than to foster consistency in moderation.

As to my derailing the thread, I don't know how one goes about doing that to a thread which you have described to have already been in that state. Which is what lead me to observe the power of the off topic post when used to manipulate threads by posters or on topics with whom one does not like or agree with. Behave badly and it's gone. This method does nothing to thwart the hijackers, rather it is detrimental only to the original poster and to the others who have posted appropriately.

That's what I'm saying.

I think the main problems for people are consistancy and feeling as though we are adults and can choose which threads to read, or not to read, all on our own. I agree that the Res Mods are trying to do their best, but I disagree that the program is needed or that it is making any difference, other than more confusion, within the forums.




I would hazard an opinion that going from boinking a child-like avatar played by a consenting adult within SL, to boinking a defenseless child in RL would be a HUGE step, and not a small one. One causes no harm to anyone, and the other causes an immense amount of harm to someone.



I agree that we should be able to name names. The only problem I see in this area is that it would be easy to slander or attack another resident (as has happened in the past) without having to provide any evidence.



Yes indeed. There is an FIC, and at times I even believe that LL can show favoritism to them, or that some are LL employees themselves. But that is the nature of things, and I don't think it causes a negative impact on our virtual world, other than to ruffle some feathers now and then. For the most part, those deemed FIC bring wonderful content into the world and have a great deal of knowledge about SL that they are more than willing to share.



There will always be people that complain, and almost all people will complain at some point. Venting and complaining and questioning aren't always a bad thing. The forums are a good place to voice one's dissatisfaction. Or they should be anyway.



We all know the forums aren't really PG. LL likes to say they are, but with this many adults, and some with very open minds and great humor, they are always going to cross the line i nto mature and adult and just plain naughty territory. Those that don't like such topics should use their self-control to move on to a different thread.



Linden Labs had created a wonderful product. A virtual world where there is a lot of freedom and creativity. They are also a business and thus they want profit. While I personally don't like some of the directions they've taken, I can understand them. And I have the choice to pay and play or to move on to something else. And yes, they are human, but they are also a business and should expect a lot of feedback, both negative and positive.



If folks can make alot of RL $$ here, more power to them. I don't like that being the main focus of Second Life these days, because it "cheapens" it and makes it less community and more corporate. But again, I don't have to spend my SL time that way if I don't want to, and other than having to buy land to build on, and have textures to build with, I don't have to spend a dime in SL.

I do miss supported events and a larger stripend at times, but SL has moved past what I once thought was a great and creative community and has embraced business and cashflow as it's main attractions. I can still do what I like in-world, though it does seem lonelier and less satisfying than it once was.



The forums are less enjoyable, entertaining and informational than they once were. There are many factors, but it's true.
