I've been trying to install the new linux client program and even tried to use Wine to play the window client but couldn't do it at all. I need to withdraw from secondlife till i can afford better to pay that onetime $10 fee. I know it is not a big amount for most of you but right now i'm a bit unemployed but wanted to check out the 7 day trail before the fee and couldn't do anything at all yet. i plan to get back here at a later time once i could figure out how to play it on my computer but right now I just can't find out where the hell are the whatever buttons there are for withdrawing my accounts from SL?

Yikes, I have no idea on this part. Most likely I would try calling them at:
1-800-860-6990 (US and Canada) (00) 800 722 00010 (UK) (0011) 800 722 00010 (Australia) Or you could get in-world, and do a person search (make sure the 'online' box is checked) for "Linden" and ask one of them. _____________________

I'm trying to get out of basic membership before then. Go into SL and go to (On the top menu) World -> My Land Down the bottom of that menu there will be a line (3rd line up) that says "Allowed land holdings at current payment plan:" if it says 0 sq. meters on that line then you are on a free account and will never get charged. You might have seen some out of date text from the old 1week free trial. Now the non-land holding accounts (basic) get 50l a week stipend and never ever have to pay anything. |

are u sure cela? I've only just found the web pages and joined yesterday and that when i've saw that one-time fee and have been trying for hours trying to get it to works. And when i joined and saw the account info on the web page i have 250 SL dollars (dunno the correct terms for it) Oh well i'm gonna have to use my knoppix live cd for java so i can ip-relay call the office and hopefully i can keep being a member for completely free.
it MIGHT be a old info but one of the law i've heard of is that it is illegal to falsly advertise prices and stuffs. I saw both $9.95 one-time fee and Free which is it and if the SL company know of it then why have they not fixed it? Just how recent have there been basic accounts set up? P.S. BTW i can't even start up SL on my computer at ALL. so please stop asking me to go in-world to do stuffs. |

Ack, thanks Sera, I had a brain fart and forgot about the $9.95 becoming free. But yes Rad, she is right, ignore that $9.95 stuff. If this is the first account made on the credit card you used, then it is free forever and you won't be changed. So don't call them I had a brain fart (*points to his name*), your account will be free if it's your first one. _____________________

Just to make sure you know, basic SL membership is now free. You won't be charged unless you upgrade to premium / own land.

You may want to contact support to see if you can keep the second account for free an eliminate the first, that way, when the Linux client gets out of Alpha, you can return. Take care! -Flip _____________________
