my textures are NOT loading at all, I might be wearing blue jeans, a shirt, a hat and shades and shoes but it never loads!
my other problem is that my guy went from white to black pretty damn quick! how do i change him back?

I'd try using Preferences Network tab, exit, restart, put on an av folder from the library.
What kind of video card do you have? How much video ram?

Is your avatar COMPLETELY black, or is it dark brown? Do the textures for the environment load? Do they turn black as well?
If a huge number of textures are turning black, I recommend doing some tests on some other games, and I recommend taking the side off the computer and see if the fan in your video card has burned out--if the fan on the card has burned out and it is no longer moving, your video card has most likely overheated and no longer functions like it should. I really wish both ATI and NVidia would make the fans in their cards with a little more quality, but that's probably asking too much. I've went through 3 video cards over the past 2 1/2 years due to the video card fans burning out, and I use a canned air duster on my computer every few months--of course, I seem to continue to buy the economy cards that supposedly have good statistics but have a low price, just to later find out that their ratings/reviews are crap. I've learned to really read the reviews of components anymore before purchasing.
If textures are loading okay for most things, and it's not turning completely black, you might want to download new drivers for your card (either from the manufacturer's website or get some beta versions from guru3d.com), uninstall the current drivers for your card, restart the computer, and install the new drivers.
