FFS Linden Lab I mean god my head hurts from contemplating the horror of a traditional parade with floats moving down an alley of spectators packed into a couple of sims.

You have tried this before. It's always been a complete disaster of course because the technology can't handle it.

What the technology can do is afford a better way to parade in a virtual world, namely to position the floats one per newly terraformed empty sim across the southern mainland border and mass teleport the stands of crowds from one to the next.

Simply require that spectators remain in their seats to be whisked along the route so that well you can fill in the blanks but geez get a grip here. Think. Innovate. You do when you develop the software; why can't you when the use of the software?

The technological issues of it concern me as well, so I totally understand how you're feeling about it.

However, I've allocated it to Mimi, and told her to do it as she thinks best, however she thinks she can make it work within the resources I have in my pocket. Ordinal's helping her, and all I can do is hope that it will work with the resources we've got available to us.

I quite like your idea, but I don't have the resources to actually do it, unfortunately. I don't have a bunch of newly minted sims to play with.

LL do and could afford you the use of them for this purpose since it's like their anniversary and all. Oh but those a big secret now that we're apparently not even supposed to know about so never mind.

It's too bad LL don't think through these things to begin with. "Your World, Your Imagination" is a handy slogan when they need to push something off on the residents rather than help accomplish something truely new and compelling.

Good Luck with the challenges of hosting a traditional parade. At the very least, y'all might have people only rez a float when it's about to hit the circuit and derez as soon as it hits the end. I'd also discourage "riders."

Thanks for replying Tateru.
