Violation: Terms of Service: Adult Allowing Teen Access to MG
Region: Ahern
Description: Sharing Main Grid account with under-18 person.
Action taken: Warning issued.

Just lastnight I had asked in Live Help if it was ok to allow my son on my account to play Bingtris... I was told no it's not ok..
While I don't agree it is ok to let minors play SL, I would never allow my son around about the main grid... but I have my own group of private islands and with me sitting next to him I would have liked him to be able to play bingtris since often times he is looking over my shoulder with alot of interest..
What are your thoughts? Do you think one should be able to allow a minor on thier account if it is supervised and in a confined area, such as private islands?

No. I think allowing 'supervised' teens into the grid is a bad idea. Mainly because I think it would be extremely rare for them to actually be supervised by their parents while on it, and the second you have minors on a grid with this much adult content there's a lawsuit in the making.

Of course, if your son doesn't tell anyone, act odd, or if your island is set to not allow anyone but you guys on it, well, I don't see how SL could find out.

Can I smoke pot if I promise not to inhale it?

The more rules and exceptions to those rules that Linden Lab provide. The more difficult it becomes for them to monitor. So for their own benefit, they're going to try and keep the rules simple.

But between me and you - You should do whatever you like in life. Just don't get caught. :)

Yeah, if you do decide to let him play, what you don't want to do is announce it on a podcast where Linden Labs can hear about it.

I have no children - OK I can kidnap brothers - and yes if so I would in my company for once or twice let them follow if possible.. (I can not offer 2-14th alts) BUT we on the other hand live in Sweden and our children live in a safer and more open world from start...

FYI I have not kidnapped my brothers children and NO I have not taken them into SL.. and yes they know about birds and bees and condoms.. whats so dangerous with SL?..

/Tina - Now heading for a glass of white.. yes its 18.25 i the evening.. 20 degrees warm and at last spring...

It seems there are more than enough teens in the MG already.

Damn. My hopes were crushed to find this discussion was not about Saved By the Bell.

I let my little girl play on the main grid all she wants because she has her own computer, her own house, and her own little girl. She is also 32 years old and still finds some things she sees in SL shocking becuase she was raised in a conservative environment in California. And yes there are parts of Calofornia that are just like rural middle America.
