A lot of the complains about features can be easily avoided had they been optional, allowing the clients to turn it on/off.
Take the camera flash for example, it's purely client side why not allow the user to turn it off?
Plus, why oh why on earth would there be no user configurable short cut keys after 3 years?

In addition to not allowing customization, the SL keyboard handling system is such that use of some major keyboard "macro" customization utiliies causes SL to crash, although the keyboard utility works fine with every other program I have used it with.
