I seem to be having trouble finding much info on the covenant idea that seems to be in development, can someone point me to where the information on this topic is?
Hmm, if Second Life made changes that allowed people to live together in an atmosphere they find pleasant, would that be another example of cutting in on a developer's market, like Anshe, Prokofy, and others?

I would love to see a few sims with "city" streets connected to every driveway, and homes conforming to a standard. Something that would look like a typical neighborhood from the 1960's. A little park/community center in the middle would be nice, with a pool and BBQ area. Maybe a little main street for commercial use, conforming to the theme would be nice. Allowing only those who live in the sim to sell goods there.
If it's run by LL that would be great, as politics would be reduced.

Personally I'm trying to find a system of government for my own upcoming sims that won't scare everyone off, but still provide the zoning they want. I've looked at Neualtenburg, and it has one major flaw that I can see: it requires a lot of participation to work well. I suspect I'll have a lot of tenants that could care less.

~Ulrika~ Unless its enforceable its just RP. Sorry but that's how I see it. Although I am still very interested in seeing how ppl run their gov't in SL and how it turns out for them. Mar

Mar The problem is this: the sim owner is pretty much stuck with being a 'king' or 'dictator'. It's not roleplay when you can ban a tenant and return all their stuff. Pretty much all they have to go on is your prior integrity. Of course people can now 'vote with their feet' and leave a land baron stuck with some heavy duty tier, so there is good incentive for reasonability on the land baron's part.

My request for more information on previous discussion of the covenant idea in the forums has been answered one time.
I have read some remarks that made me think there is about to be a big change, that it is largely determined already, and I haven't seen any discussion of the idea at all.
Am I wrong about that?

From: Desmond Shang The problem is this: the sim owner is pretty much stuck with being a 'king' or 'dictator'. You may call me the Supreme Overlord! I know this applies to Landlord sims, but I've got to say that I revel in being able to the despot in Chaos (well co-despot).
