I was recently given an open-source copy of very clean, simple script for getting an object (ie, missile or drop pod) from one sim to another. It's pretty neat and the first time I've had one small enough to really do anything with. So I've been working up a couple things to amuse myself. Like a more functional drop pod (for dropping... soldiers... from the sky) and some various ordinance. Namely Probe Rockets that send back sim conditions and other information to determine if a path is clear for larger things. The problem so far: landings. I'm working on some better code that'll allow the rocket to land, stay put for a minute and return readings, then delete itself. The problem is that sometimes the script will cut out or not detect landing properly...
So... if any of my crap lands in your yard, and I'm around, IM me and I'll come get it. Thanks.

Not.... whatever that was. But... somtimes things go off course, land in no-script zones, or collide with floating debris. I'm working to make it smarter.

I have a feeling it was over a comment on the forums, or just a random act. I returned all but one..figuring I may as well enjoy the free gift of music.
I didn't report it, but IMed him and left a message.
If one of your probes lands on my property I will IM you and let you know. That way you can see what data might be compiled in the case of script communication failure.

I have one of these. It's controlled by email.
Here's my suggestion: put in an email kill script, and a "die if trapped" one as well.

Yep. If you don't know of a particular reason I'd be pissed at you, it's safe to approach the thing. Right now I'm working on making it send data back that'd be useful to me and my group. Like region conditions, land owner, if anyone happens to be in the immediate proximity and their precise locations with keys. Nothing too useful unless you plan to land there or send something bigger. Like... yourself and some freinds. Or a big box of.... hippos.

I was going to send you a hello message but you're apparently on an island somewhere. That's no good! We need universal void sims!

Well, my Delilah automaton will only move physically. Anything else would be cheating. So she can't cross the Sim Divide.
This stuff is much more fun on the mainland.

I know. It's fun getting feedback from the rocket as it flies from a sandbox to someplace like waterhead
