I didn't see Second Life at the MacWorld Expo! Is there some reason that LL doesn't promote SL at the MacWorld Expo in San Francisco?

If you had a platform that worked as well as the one under discussion and a client that only enhanced the experience, would you market it forcefully in such a venue? Just askin....

I am not sure what you are saying. Are you actually trying to imply that Mac OS-X doesn't work well? Only a complete idiot or someone who has never seen or used it would think that. Even those that dont necessarily like it, or those that are die hard windows fans usually will admit its a slick and highly competent OS. Trying to say it isn't just makes you look stupid. If that's what your "just sayin" that is. :)

I think he's implying that SL doesn't work well enough on *any* OS to showcase it at an industry conference like MacWorld.

Is that really the case? If I were at the Expo and hadn't seen SL, I'd definitely be interested in it.

Given that SL's performance on OS X is lackluster at best, a 'we're working on it' for an x86 binary and that the UI is a total slap in the face to the Human Interface Guidelines most people touch themselves over when it comes to quality OS X products -- down to not even using the right meta keys for shortcuts? I seriously don't think it's a 'Mac' product that should be at a *Mac Expo*.

I personally use my PC for SL (plus a handful of games) and some audio-work with my G5 for everything else in a side-by-side setup due to this.

I would think so, too. I would think Linden could potentially get hundreds of new residents by appearing at MacWorld.

And that was written by Macca, who was so named because he was born with a silver brolly in his oval orifice.

Linden Labs considered a presence at MacWorld.

Then they remembered that Mac users are typically somewhat intelligent, and don't put up with software that doesn't work.

In other words, they wouldn't have any interest in second life.

Yipes! I'm a little bit surprised by the negativity in this thread. I actually think SL is a great experience and I would like to have seen it alongside all those other games at MacWorld. I think it would show well. :)
