(sarcasm ON)

I'd like to thank linden labs for putting credit info in people's profiles. Personally, I want to know if the person I'm talking to is a deadbeat or someone worth wasting my time talking to.

In fact, I'm hoping you go even further! I'd like to see you institute not only the credit status of residents with regard to your company, I want to see their 3 report credit rating in their profile! That's right, I want to know if your worth my time! If you have a credit rating below what I feel is right I don't want to bother with you. In fact, I think we should know which residents have filed for bankruptcy in the past 7 years!! OMG I need this info to make so many determinations about your worth to me!!!!

(sarcasm OFF)

It's just silly to give residents a tool by which groups of people can be segregated and discriminated against.

Clearly, the vast majority of people will NOT be giving any grief to people with unverified accounts, but the fact you make it public serves no useful purpose but has the potential of causing more harm than any possible good.

C'mon Linden Labs, you can gather info you need for your marketing/numbers manipulation without creating a possible problem.

It reminds me of a study done once by a teacher with a grade school class. In this study, the teacher said that everyone with blue eyes is better than everyone else. And you know, over time the kinds began to act as it were true! Discrimination began to show itself and the blue eyes kids became elitist in their nature and the other kids more timid as they started to feel inferior!

This proves that just putting something in where people can feel superior to others means they will start acting it out as well over time. I mean, if you see someone in a year from now and their profile shows they were born the previous year BUT their account is STILL unverified. You mean YOU won't jump go conclusions? OMG that has to be an alt.. or a griefer.. look at the profile! It's unverified and they have been a resident over a year!

It may not easily be evident now, but in time to come I"m afraid of what may happen.

Just some thoughts...

"All men are created equal. Some are just more equal than others."

I hear all the time the comparison between SL and RL.

People want RL privacy levels in SL.

People want RL earning potential in SL.

People want RL laws enforced in SL.

Why not shove the elitism, unequality, class/caste system, "haves" & "have nots" and other social ills upon SL too :)

I vote for MORE seperation! :) Those with unverified accounts should slowly look more and more "homeless".

1.) Unverified accounts after two weeks have a green "smelly" unwashed particle effect around them.

2.) Unverified accounts after a month have their clothes degrade. Holes and tears appear in clothing. Hairstyles come "undone" and wild/messier.

3.) Unverified accounts after three months sprout lesions on their AV's skins.

4.) Unverified accounts after six months develop drinking & drug problems leading to random spouts of text or animations not triggered by the player. AVs will shiver, flail, or shout things at others randomly, at intervals chosen by the server.

Weeeee! :p

BTW I like the credit score idea. I'd actually like a field set up on profiles for highest level of education and GPA as well, so I can weed out people I feel are not intelligent enough to speak to me. Also, native language ... as I'd hate to talk to those nasty foreigners.

Left or Right handedness too! ... I don't want lefties and righties co-mingling.

The plan is to eventually have seven classes of people in SL. The untouchables will be the lowest, and of course we cherubs will be the highest class.

LMFAO. Can somebody please suggest this in the feature voting? It does seem to be where we are headed.

People can't have it both ways. The majority of unverified accounts are of people who would not be here if card verification happened at logon and that is the situation we used to have. This system was brought in so landowners could better protect themselves against griefers and adult content might be better controlled even though to me these arguments did not have much substance. LL have listened to you and brought in this system of veritfied or not and now ppl still complain even louder!

When th scripted controls come in you guys should be able to ban unverifieds and then it won't be a problem to you anymore because you won't see them anymore!

OTOH, a certain percentage of the unverified may actually like sl and buy some lindens and even become land owning premium members! There will certainly be a lot of pressure on them to do so!

Got onto eve a couple of days ago and they are running a two week free trial period. I did have to give a valid email address, though, and got my key through an email

Don't want to pay ? Don't want to verify your identity ? Don't want to prove your age ?

Why don't you log off, hop in your car, go somewhere nice, buy yourself a beer and relax in an environment that doesn't requ... oh wait. damn.
