It's not anything in particular they might do that's bothersome, it's just contemplating their existence that bugs me.

I guess I should just try to put this thought out of my mind.

At least you do not have my problem.. our nieghbors hate us and harass us as often as they possibly can, even after being reported about a thousand times..
Ohh, and we lived there first.. so it's not like we moved next to them or anything.

I don't even own any land.

I'm just practicing.

I think if this is your attitude to being near ther people SL is not the Place for you. It's a people place. You sound like someone who Buys a house next to an airport and complains about the noise.

Appropos of another thread - is that why avatars show far more creativity, effort, and togetherness than architecture in Second Life?

Yes.
  1. Everyone has a Avatar.
  2. Not everyone has land.
  3. You take your avatar with you.
  4. You leave your land.
That's why the clothing/attachment business is so much bigger then architecture business. And why people put more effort in their avie.

Something I mentioned on another thread, good to repeat it here:

Generally an avatar will get more airtime than a build. For those who have no land the avatar gets 100% of the airtime.

All people have avatars and are seen. Only some have builds and many go unseen (like I think very few people have actually seen my place so far out from the action center).
