Don't get me wrong. I love the foggy, cloudy environment of Neualtenburg. But when you're trying to do plot lines, well, !!?#@!!. I know you have to have the Debug Menu displayed. But, what is the secret key combination? Thanks. Your surveyor and bulldozer operator, Sudane (actually, I have Rudeen doing all the work )

You want to shut off "clouds" in the debug menu. I think it's Alt-Shift-Minus or Ctrl-Alt-Minus. I can't remember. You can toggle it in the Debug menu without using the keyboard by looking for a checkbox in front of the word "Clouds" somewhere in a submenu. Sorry I can't be more specific. I don't have SL in front of me right now. I also think I figured out why we can't lower the land out of the clouds and make it closer to the sea. That chasm on the North side goes so far down that the land can't be pushed any lower. I tried raising a portion of the chasm and it took quite some time. I estimate it would take a couple of hours to pull that thing up. Once done, we could probably bring the sim closer to the sea and out of the clouds. ~Ulrika~

Finally found it on the menus. Debug / Rendering / Type / Clouds (toggle) also, in a related vein: Debug / Rendering / Features / Fog (toggle) turns off/on the "distance fog", although you can set that to a high value in the Preferences and effectively turn it off. FWIW. Learn something every day.

Aaah, but I love the clouds myself - it gives Neualtenburg a sense/taste of "authenticity". Most places in SL look too "shiny and bright". Neualtenburg has a "miasma" where you slowly see some structures emerging - the Kirche towers, the Senate dome... You wait a bit, and the "fog" hide them from view again... it's lovely Some places, to get "weird lighting", are placed under water. We did it at "cloud level". It looks much nicer that way, so, I, for one, would certainly leave Neualtenburg at the current height, and instruct people to turn off fog if they wish.
