Hey everyone! I was avoiding saying anything about and to the Neualtenburg Projekt and its members until I was certain that I would be "officially" coming back to SL. I had a few personal ends to tie up that were to make or break my decision. Well, things went well! So I feel the last end I need to tie up is Neualt. First off, forgive me for disapearing at such a critical time for the projekt. There was so so much "bad" going on for me in SL, and a lot of "good but kept me overly busy" in RL. It all sort of came crashing down and it was just easier to go away for a bit. I couldn't put into words how I was feeling, so it felt better to say nothing at all. But I am *very* sorry to all of you. Neualt meant (and still means) a great deal to me. And even if I am not able to come back in the same place that I was, I would very much still love to be a part of the projekt (my land is still in your hands and I would not have taken it away no matter what). I would love to catch up on all that has changed, and try and touch base with all of you. I hope you will have me back! I have missed all of you greatly! *hugs*

From: Pendari Lorentz I hope you will have me back! I have missed all of you greatly! *hugs* Yay! Our project aside, I'm very happy to see one of SL's best members back in world. Wecome back! As for our project, RL always comes first. No questions asked. No apologies are necessary. Here's what's changed: - We formed a cooperative to purchase a new private sim (called Neualtenburg) and just took possession of it a few days ago.
- In the new sim we are taking the project to the next level by adding private ownership and true citizenship.
- We have a new Neualtenburg website.
- I managed to successfully lobby for a dedicated Political Science forum.
- Kathy Yamamoto left SL for a bit due to RL needs.
- Haney Linden is no longer with LL. There's been no official reason or acknowledgment that I know of yet.
- Talen Morgan has his own private sim now.
- Urusula Zapata is no longer in world much except for her DJ work.
Just so you know, we're all pulling out our tier before the end of the month, so we can avoid paying an extra month of support for the old Neualtenburg. I'm also dropping my tier down to 512 m^2 in SL and moving exclusively into the new sim with 5120 m^2 of land. I can't wait. ~Ulrika~

What can I say, Pendari? Welcome back! Some people are the "life and blood" of Second Life and make it an enjoyable place. Somehow, "something was missing" when you were away. I'm sorry to know about the "bad things in SL", but certainly glad that you were able to overcome them and returned Well, we are rolling fast towards Neualtenburg - Phase II Ulrika has pretty well resumed the major issues, and I think that her wonderful new site at www.neualtenburg.org will certainly be able to fill you in with the nifty details! If all goes well, we really hope that we are able to make the "move" before April, 30th (so that the generous contributors are able to release tier from the group and not pay any more for it). Right now, this means we're almost one month earlier on schedule -- not bad! So, we're certainly glad to have you back Lots to do!

Thank you for the warm welcome back everyone! And for the information! I'm reading up on everything and WOW! No kidding a lot has happened!! It all sounds very exciting! I'm a bit confused about how the land is working out now, but I figure a couple more reads and I'll either understand it or latch onto someone's leg till I do understand.

In first phase of the project, we kept the membership closed allowing in only selected members. Some members provided land-use donations. Members were not bound to the city and we had no control over how they behaved. In the second phase of the project, membership is open but it requires that members purchase a share of the sim and pay a monthly land-use fee directly to the city. Members are true citizens living on the land and are encouraged to adhere to rules at the risk of losing their share of the sim. The key is to create true citizenship by linking members to the government using land (a deed with a covenant). *whew* Grab a bowl of ice cream and check out the Neualtenburg website. It has all the details (you can skip over the government section cause you're already an expert). ~Ulrika~
