Speaking of Wikis.....

Should Neualtenburg create a wiki that states all the laws, balls, and deeds of Neualtenburg?

Heres a link for MediaWiki (wikipedia software) MediaWiki

Comments, Ideas?

A Wiki implies it needs to be edited by anyone, which we don't really need, I think. Although using Wiki software may still be a good option.

Hello all,

Sorry, I've been a bit too busy to keep up with the forums (I've concentrated my spare time in-world :) ) and am just reading back old forums :)

Thanks for the wonderful work on the Wiki, Eugene :) I had once updated Wikipedia's entry itself but didn't want to abuse it too much :)

As for having our own Wiki, hmm, Aliasi — iRL I have been plagued with customers who want everything what a Wiki is not: a tool where only certain groups can edit certain parts (or read them). After two or three months of searches, I finally found it: it's called WackoWiki, a modification of the more usually known WakkaWiki (used, for instance, for the LSL and Technical Support wikis hosted by Linden Lab). It looks very similar, but the support for groups of users is astoundingly well done, as well as fully supporting "folders" (which also can be assigned to specific user groups). The only thing that doesn't work too well is adding users to groups — it still needs filling up manually a configuration file (quirky, but it works).

It's an alternative, if you wish to use it. Ulrika's our "semi-official hosting provider", so, if she has some extra space left, this is installed quickly and easily :) If not, well, I have access to some hosting space as well...

I also have some space I'm not really using, save as a picture repository.

I already have a wiki installed on the server. When one accesses our Constitution, ToS, Deed, or Laws, it's pulling the information directly from the wiki. Currently, I'm the only person who can edit the wiki but I intend to open it to more folks as time goes on.

As for laws, I need a system for organizing them logically before I open it up to more folks.

If you'd like direct access to the wiki for whatever (fun, documenting nongovernmental topics) let me know and I can open it up. :)

~Ulrika~
