House Plates

Hi all,

prowling through my hometown Neualtenburg, I was wondering if it wouldn´t be nice to have small metal plates besides the house doors on the outside to show visitors who lives in that house.

I am pretty sure that this has been discussed in the past, but in this case please forgive me ... I am still a new resident.

I know we have plates with the House number, but I think plaques with our names would be cute too! Perhaps someone in the guild would make some nice ones and let us buy them personalized? :)

In addition to plaques, in Bavaria I often saw people paint the name of their business in beautiful ornate letters directly on the face of their building. Sometimes it was black lettering on white plaster, other times it was more colorful and accompanied by a picture.

I have tried to find some residential signs here, but so far, well, Bavaria does not have themn any more. :-( I will try to check some old farm houses ...

For the beginning we could just discuss about the images that you get when googling images with the search words "residential signs".

You are welcome to make them for free, but I hardly think I would want the job of perpetually making personalized signs and paying for the upload fee out of my own pocket.

I think 40 Lindens + 10 Linden upload charge is extremely generous.

Definitely. We need to make sure that those who are doing creative work for the city are well compensated. A price of L$40 is only US$0.16 which, at the rate that most professionals charge in RL for work, is about 3.3 ms of work. :D
