Covenant Violation

It appears that there has been some radical teraforming in N'burg on Keltrien's land. There is also a very large cubic prim hovering high above the ground. Both items are in (big) violation of the covenant. Could someone contact him? Maybe as your last SC duty, Aliasi. :)

I'll be packing the rest of the day and I leave early tomorrow morning, so I won't have time to address this.

Hm. I know he had some radical terraforming (in order to create a basement) but I was under the impression that was okayed for that build by the Guild. (I may be wrong.)

If this is so, the question is, does it apply for his apparently new re-build? I'll try to get in touch with him if I see him.

The mondo floating prim has to go for sure. As for the basement, something like that has been done before to a lesser degree under the platz, however here it seems rather jarring. How do you all feel about it and do you think radical teraforming if capped by a prim is acceptable?

I'm all for it since you can't truly dig underground in SL; so long as it's in the manner of the fachwerks or the plaza where the "end result" is not an obvious disruption, making a basement should be perfectly acceptable (to my mind). Similarly, if (for a particular purpose) one made a short, sharp incline and placed a prim to give the appearance of a retaining wall, that too I think could be allowed.

As a corollary, if one is rebuilding, one must restore the land to its previous state, and this still doesn't allow for someone to just dig pits or raise mountains for the hell of it.

Groovy. I agree with this. However, his current method of capping the hole could use some work. It's a flat snow-textured prim placed in such a way that the teraforming is pretty obvious. Perhaps if that were improved it would be less conspicuous.

It's been a few days since he's logged on, so I suspect he was just in the middle of it and got called away. I've dropped him an IM.

Howdy everyone,

Sorry for leaving my prims floating in the air there. RL snuck up and smashed me on the head these past few weeks and I left my blocks out. I took 'em down tonight.

As far as my big ass basement goes, I did run it by Kendra. I'm not looking to ruffle any feathers here, just looking to get some work shop space that doesn't interfere with the above ground view.

I'm maybe 5% done with the above ground build and the flat snow cap will soon be transformed into a nice pleasent little garden space.

I caught up with Aliasi tonight and explained things, if anyone has any other questions/concerns, let me know and I'll do my best to address them.

Cheers!

well the first time you did --I did explain that the basement must have no visable earmarks from the outside, and that you must revert the land if you ever leave it, I haven't looked recently and I trust that it will be put back to that level of landscape.

Yup. It'll be all that when it's done, like I said, things have been crazy, leaving little time for SL. Sorry for the delays.

Thanks for the pleasant reply Keltrien. I'm very happy you consulted Kendra and knowing that it's a work in progress removes all my concerns. I understand the need for a basement for productive work. Kendra and I did the very same thing under the Platz. As for modifying things, take your time -- RL comes before SL. :)

I should also say, that the reason I posted this thread is that it's my job as a member of the SC to make sure citizens are in compliance with the law.
