Proposal for two meetings this Saturday Dec 4th

I would like to make a proposal for two specific meetings for this Saturday December 4th.

For the first meeting: I would like to meet just as a group and do a touch base on where the project currently stands. What still needs to be done, etc. We can quickly touch on each of the current propsals and ideas out here on the forums, and those getting mentioned in passing. I will be happy to draw up an agenda and "host" this meeting, though this time I feel it should be more of a round table with certain people being able to answer a large portion of the questions. I will also be happy to get out a notecard to all group members that lists the agenda, time, and landmark. This event should not be posted on the events calendar.

For the second meeting: For this meeting, I think it would be a great idea to put an event on the calendar for a question and answer session for the SL community members that may be interested in our project. Many do not read the forums and may have no clue we even exist. We could put on notecards some of the current information we have available, as well as list our website address for further information after the gathering. I think it could help bring publicity to the project as well as help answer some concerns that are floating about. I would be happy to put the information notecard together and make a dispenser for it. I will also be happy to notify other group members as I stated above.

If there are no objections to these meetings, I would love to hear from you two things:

1. When would be a good time for you for each meeting (I would really love to get as many cross time zones covered as possible - there are toys for tots events Sat evening, so Sat morning and afternoon would be ideal if possible - just need a time frame that works).

2. Any items that you would like to see specifically on the agenda for the members meeting

Thank you all! :)

PS: I already talked with Kendra about these meetings. I believe I have gone through all proper channels, please let me know if I am catching on or screwing up royally. hehe.. :p

I think this is a great idea, Pen. I will not be able to attend because I will be in El Paso working from the 2nd to the 9th. I have asked for a room with high speed internet access, but whether I get on or not remains to be seen. I would like a notecard though, if you do one.

I will check the forums as often as I can.

Any time works for me. Also, I have a notecard giver in the town square. It's the big rotating exclamation point. Check out the notecard in there and let me know if that works for the second meeting. If not, I could modify it.

Any time on saturdays are usually good for me, but I do my best thinking later in the day :P

3pm Saturday SL time = 11pm Saturday in The UK. So anything later than than will be a bit of a problem for us Europeans.

Ok. To make these meetings a tad more Euro friendly, I'm going to make them earlier in the day.

I propose 10:30am PST to 11:30am PST for the project members meeting, and 1:30pm to 2:30pm for the open meeting.

This also allows a little time for the first meeting to run over if needed, but gives us a definite *need to stop time* as well.

If there are no objections to the times, I will spend tomorrow getting this on the calendar and getting the word out to other members. :)

PS: Urusula, I will certainly keep logs of the events. :) Ulrika, I am about to get in world and will go over the information card. I had forgotten it existed. I"m sure it will be great! The only thing we may want to add is notecards within it that detail the different parties available for people to join. At any rate, I'll get back to you later tonight on the card. :)

Thank you Pendari,

I make 7:30pm to 8:30pm and 9:30 to 10:30 pm. I shall make at least one of those meetings.

If those are bad times for the US, and I turn out to be the only European, fell free to rearrange.

*outsider post*

I've been following along a bit with the discussions here and in the more public Forums, and as much as I'm disillusioned with governments (RL), I find myself interesting in helping this project in whatever small way I can, perhaps merely to learn more, and/or buck public opinion (which I seem to have a near fanatical need to do).

I would definitely attend the public meeting, and will continue to read up here in this forum so that, if allowed, I might join one of the parties, or merely tag along with the project and lend a helping hand.

I did stop by the city the other day (accidently stumbled across it) and saw the beer kegs, so that might explain part of my urge to become part of the goings-on. ;)

All members have received a notecard this evening detailing both meetings. The public meeting has also been posted on the events calendar. :)

I've already received some great feedback from members and feel that these meetings will be wonderful events for the project. Thank you everyone! :D
