Major terrain damage

Alerted by Bond and by Garnet, I've just been inspecting Neualtenburg "post-cataclysm". We've experienced serious terrain damage to the sim.

I am writing now an urgent message to "concierge" (Lee Linden) regarding this situation. I am guess that they will perform a "roll-back", but I'm not really knowledgeable enough to know if thats a possibility, or if thats what they will do.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated. As well as any direct action that you would know to take.

For those interested, here's what I've observed.

1) It appears that the entire terrain has shifted towards the east. Since the eastern edge is entirely high, the result is that most of the objects, particularly in the valley, are up in the air.

2) The shift has resulted in a huge western wall, going mostly thru Garnet's property and house and gallery. Oddly, it does not appear so much at the top of the hill, at Tai's property. She has had house pieces returned to her.

3) Throughout the city, tiny swellings, spikes and shifts having appeared. Many of these are phantom land. And the ones I tested did not respond to "Edit Land". (Ones in the middle of streets, which is Raumnutzung land).

I let Linden Labs know right away when it happened. They suggested the rollback but I told them I wouldn't be the one to approve that. I did tell them that we've had bizarre instances with time dilation being very slow and Sim FPS and Physics FPS being hammered before the crash. Interestingly, after the crash, the sim was stable with the exception of the terrain damage.

Update

I've just had an opportunity to talk with Harry Linden via Live Help. His exact comments were that the terrain corruption will probably not require a rollback, but that residents should be warned that one may be necessary in an extreme case.

Do not make any changes to your property in Neualtenburg. Or, if you do, assume that the changes will be lost if a rollback is necessary.

I pressed for a date/time when repairs, or rollback, would be performed. He attempted to get a date, but was unable to. He said that Cyn would get back to me with that info.

I'll report anything further as I hear.

I haven't logged in for a few days. Was this related to the 1.7.0 update, or was this a "natural disaster"?

Bond refered to a sim crash... I presume that was the immediate cause. Whether that crash was caused by the update itself... don't know.

I took a whole bunch of pics right after it happened because I assumed it would be fixed so fast no one would see it. :) wrong assumption.

Just so y'all know, over in my other "home sim" of Eldora we had a similar problem, although Eldora was not unstable; it was caused by a rolling update.

Thank you for the heads up Sudane!! Hopefully they will get this fixed quickly!

I'm playing catch up on threads and emails right now. I'll keep my eyes open for when it is safe to build anything again.

Bad news. Sounds like it's a side effect of a rolling update. :(

I'm currently recovering from minor surgery so will be out for a few days. Hopefully, things will be back to normal shortly.

Get well soon Ulrika! :D

I also took some pictures of the damage done inside the city walls.

My sim just experience the same cateclysmic damage, everything is gone. How do I get this rollback done? and what if anything am I going to lose? We just got everything up and going, finally.
