As many of you are aware, I am stepping down from my role as Gildemeister in order to seek election to the Representative Assembly.
The question is raised then --Why?
I can answer this by saying it is my deep seated feeling that the Moderate Party has failed you, the citizen, in increasing Neualtenburg's populace to a number reflective of SecondLife's growth spurt this year.
It is the feeling of this candidate that this has occurred for several reasons.
Reason One: Lack of activity. Planned events by Guild members found little to no support by the RA, often unattended even by Government officials. A strong signal to Neualtenburg citizens that it is best to stay indoors, be quiet and let the Government bureaucracy handle all.
I would promise as a member of the RA to lean on the assembly to fully support all proactive decisions of any citizen of Neualtenburg that furthers the profile of our City. Activity of The People is paramount.
Reason Two: Lack of Jobs. It will be my personal mission to pass bills creating an ongoing civic "jobs" program for those citizens who wish to serve the public interest by employment in event and merchant related activity. This would include a "grants package" of a monthly stipend to regular event holders.
Reason Three: Lack of Vision. I encourage you to read in the coming days the SDF platform prior to the excerize of your very important vote.
Neualtenburg is like a shark. We must keep swimming or we will die.
And so my fellow Neualtenburger I ask you this:
If you wish to be part of a simple but charming bavarian themed mall and live the fence sitting moderate's dream of timid bureaucrats- -vote MPP
If you wish to be part of an energetic community devoted to it's people and not to the almighty Linden dollar, a Neualtenburg which enters it's second year as a force in the SL community to be reckoned with as the cutting-edge experiment in virtual community that it was born to be -- VOTE SDF.
Much as I have worked tirelessly as Gildemeister to improve the infrastructure of builds in Neualtenburg, I promise to work just as tirelessly to improve the overall experience for it's citizens. What I have done for Altenburg, I now vow to do for Neualtenburg.
Do not let the doddering greybeards of the MPP continue to halt the progress of Neualtenburg!
Citizens! Do you wish a STRONGER CITY!?
Then vote SDF --and vote Kendra Bancroft to the Representative Assembly.

I'm not a citizen of N'burg, and therefore ineligible to vote anyway, but if I were, I'd want people on the RA to be able to spell 'stronger.' P2

Y'know, Kendra, for all I find the political aspects of Neualtenburg fascinating, I try to stay out of the actual politics as much as I can... but wasn't it a member of your faction that proposed what amounted to the Disneyfication of the sim? (As part of a radical brainstorm thread, mind you, not as a serious proposal...)

Regardless of the direction the city takes, I think Kendra's rhetorical statements concerning timidity and fence sitting are accurate. We must be bold in these coming months, so much so that we assure a place for our sims in virtual-world history! ~Ulrika~

From: Ulrika Zugzwang I missed the thread that proposed turning the city into a theme park. Nope. You posted to it, in fact. /103/4a/61962/1.htmlGranted, both you and Kendra were opposed to it, but I would like to show that wacky ideas come from all directions.

I recall that thread now, although I'm not sure I see how your point relates to Kendra's parent post. Yet, I've enjoyed the ride and that's the most important part. ~Ulrika~

From: Ulrika Zugzwang Ah yes! I recall that thread now, although I'm not sure I see how your point relates to Kendra's parent post. Yet, I've enjoyed the ride and that's the most important part. ~Ulrika~ Kendra claimed that "to avoid Neualtenburg becoming a charming Bavarian-themed mall, vote SDF". Now, while I might accept that one should vote Kendra, the originator of the idea was, in fact, an SDF member... and due to the way our voting system works, those of us not in the SDF would (if Eugene had been serious about his proposal) have to rely on the good sense of the SDF members to vote for Kendra instead of Eugene, as the very best anyone else can do is rank the SDF highly or lowly. This is not meant as an anti-SDF post, but rather... "we're all bozos on this bus".

From: Aliasi Stonebender This is not meant as an anti-SDF post, but rather... "we're all bozos on this bus". Ah, I understand what you're saying. You're countering a rhetorical generalization made by Kendra by pointing out similar behavior as described in the generalization within Kendra's own party. I agree. Each member of each party is their own person. In regards to Eugene, his greatest asset is his ability to come up with new and creative ideas. He's a real asset to the city and one of the main reasons we filled up so quickly. I want to make sure that in disproving a rhetorical statement that Eugene and other creative thinkers aren't discouraged from putting forward radical ideas in the future. Go get 'em Eugene! ~Ulrika~
