What do fellow residents think of employing a translator in-forum? I think it must be frustrating for Melina and possibly any future native German-speaking residents not to be able to express their ideas as well as they'd wish. Of course this means we would have to be patient and wait for the translator to do the work. I don't see it as a very expensive contract as Melina is obviously capable of constructing most postings without help, and I imagine that will be the case for any others.

We could put together a group of volunteers to help out when they can. I myself would be very happy to translate. I know quite a bit of German and live with someone who knows even more. ~Ulrika~

This points up another opportunity for Neualtenburg, to this point, only Anshe has done anything to create non-anglophone communities in SL. It would be a good thing for non English speakers to have an alternative to the land barons, however benevolent their dictatorships. How can we make Neualtenburg consciously mulilingual friendly?

Being already involved in translating lots of SL-related documentation in another language (Portuguese in my case) I must tell you that this is no slight job. We're talking hundreds of hours of work here. Anshe does it because Anshe can *afford* it. I wonder if we can as well! I'm definitely not against the idea — I'd even volunteer, although my written German is rusty — just reminding you that multilingual support is, well, definitely not an easy task

I wonder if there's a via media between translating everything and the current state of about 99% of the SL grid, which I perceive as having a metaphorical "English spoken here" sign over it.
