Ditch the Nburg forum?

I was going to post this in the other thread, but it got closed.
(not sure why it would have been.)

I think the only real solution (even though Ulrika has given up her moderator status), might be to ditch this forum altogether.

The same kinds of problems as we had with outsider and inconsistent moderation will continue to occur and it just doesn't seem right that a group that hardly even exists anymore should have it's own forum in SL forums.

Neither does it seem right that the current Neualtenburg groups are hardly represented within it. How can we have a group forum about the Neualtenburg experimental government project, that is not explicitly under the control of the Neualtenburg government?

Makes little sense to me.

At the very lest we should have some kind of rules to what the moderators can and cannot do, when they should be set-up as moderators and under what conditions they should resign their powers.

I mean isn't this kind of the point of Ulrka's messing with the forums in the first place? to point out exactly that?

If you all abandon this forum, I would like to be restored as moderator, please. There is a lot of really interesting information in it concerning the creation of virtual governments and I'd love to archive it and protect it.

Well, I for one find reading the forum quite interesting, even as someone with no connection with Neualtenburg whatsoever. If that means anything. Of course, I'm the sort of person who watches C-SPAN for fun. But I'd be sorry to see it disappear.

I'm not abandoning it. It is the forum of the Neualtenburg PROJEKT --not the City of Neualtenburg.

As far as I'm concerned, the PROJEKT predates the City --and the materials in this forum and how it's run are the concern of the PROJEKT and not the CITY.

Linden Lab might even abandon the whole forums idea anyway

We'll still have these issues to sort out. whether NB uses a forum here or elsewhere.

I've noted my willingness to host a forum on the same server I host the Wiki, and I'm looking into various setups. However, it would be under the same terms as the Wiki (and, for that matter, the same terms of this forum) - until and unless the City is paying for the server, it's mine and I reserve the right to bend, fold, spindle, or mutilate anything that happens or is posted. Doesn't mean I intend to, but I want to put the nastiest possibilities in the clear to begin with.
