Hi all,
today I took the map of Nburg from the Nburg website and added the information of which plot belongs to whom and which plot is still available.
I noticed that the map from the website could need a rework, as the modern area near to the bridge is not mentioned in any way.
Also I amnot sure if the list of the land owners is up-to-date, P110 and P120 do not seem to be available any more.
P195 is not even on the map.
Regarding the stores I would like to know where you define the difference between Kaufhaus, Warenhaus and Modehaus. Next to the Modehaus we still have a space that seems to be not used in any way. Do the stores belong to individuals (i.e. private groups) or to the city?
Could someone also tell me why we need a Rathaus and an *empty* building for the Government?
I am sure that everything is well planned, and I know that the Casino may be moved, modified or removed or whatever. I also know that this hill just behind my house is planned for a museum.
But what I see is that there is quite some place to be used for other purposes or to be sold to residents.

Mel Wow. Great idea. Are you going to post the map? The complete list of current owners is under "land" on the Neualtenburg site isn't it?

I could, why not, but it is more a personal look on it, my plot has a different color than all the other private plots. (Okay, he others are all in blue, but in different tones) The list is supposed to be complete, but I am not sure regarding the plots in the valley.

For anyone who would like to modify my vector based maps, I can provide them to you in Visio, SVG, or OmniGraffle format. The lots are accurate inside the city but no longer match outside the city as Melina has discovered.
I'll put modifications on our website.

Well, two plots were made into one (where my tower is, since I bought both plots - ease of setting music streams). Also, a lot of the "uphill" stuff near the NW was turned into "prim farmland" for city-dwellers who wanted extra prims. The Kaufhaus is the current "general store". Any citizen, if I recall correctly, can place merchandise for sale there, in a Guild-approved-and-maintained vendor, an option for those not wanting to hide things away in their house. The Warenhaus is where the "Neualten themed" things are sold - that is, the fachwerks, city textures, etc, etc. The Modehaus is Kendra's private shop, as the whole of Altenburg is hers.

Soon there will be Men's fashion on the third floor and ladies unmentionables on the second The site next to the Modehaus is going to be Kendra's Textureworx. If you like my textures --get ready for a veritable feast for the eyes!

I would like to see a city directory, a map showing stores and public buildings. Does such a thing exist?

From: Tai Tuppakaka I would like to see a city directory, a map showing stores and public buildings. Does such a thing exist? I would also like to see a register of the citizens, together with a photo, their function in Nburg and maybe their special skills. This would make it easier for new citizens to feel at home. Regarding the shops: okay, I can see a benefit in having them all, but that should be enough for such a small village, shouldn´t it. This is my opinion referring to the recent discussion about adding more stores and maybe move the residential homes to the second floors. Thanks, Aliasi, for the explanation! There is one additional idea hidden in my mind: what about a weekly "Wochenmarkt" on the "Marktplatz" with people selling stuff like on a flea market or others selling pigs, cows, horses (are their any in SL), fruits? Wow! Some great ideas in this thread! I had been planning on working on a directory myself for the city (I did one once for another city with great results - even though it was simplistic in nature). So I'd love to help on the directory!

I'll put modifications on our website. Is there a certain cycle how often the Nburg website is being updated? Regarding the map, it would help if you´d send me a copy in Visio format. Although I am pretty sure that I will use Photoshop for further editing. Maybe we need more than one additional maps. Mel

From: Melina Loonie Is there a certain cycle how often the Nburg website is being updated? The Land chart, listing parcels, sizes, owners and prices, is updated at least once a month, and usually more often. It is actually linked to a data file which I maintain on my website, which I try and keep reasonably up to date. Ulrika wrote code for the "Land" page of neualtenburg.org which extracts the data from that location. The source of that data, the Neualtenburg Land Journal, is a spreadsheet, displayed in PDF format, which is also viewable via a link at the top of the "Land" page. Sudane

Sudane, thanks for the info. Once a month should be enough, although people that just bought a piece of land would like to see their claim earlier.

Is that true and documented somewhere? I bought the land to build on. I don't see anything in the CC&R about zoning restrictions for the NW corner area, except that it must be residential and must be a modern bauhaus-inspired design.

This is a misunderstanding, we are only talking about the P280-xx plots. They are meant to be a buffer for prims and not to be built on.
The NW area is free for new challenges.

Yes, I wasn't talking about the extreme NW corner, which is as you say, but the bit just south of it. Sorry for the confusion!

Are vendors obligatory if you have only one item to sell, I can see that they're more efficient if you have a bunch of items, but if you have one, why not a for sale - sell copy copy of the item in the kaufhaus? Also, is there a list of Guild approved vendors? Is the menswear floor of the Modehaus ready yet?

Is the menswear floor of the Modehaus ready yet? Certainly, I believe if you had but one item you could just set out a for sale/sell copy version, yes. As for "guild approved vendors", it's mainly a matter of running it by Kendra, although I expect any that doesn't maintain things like an open listen should be all right. (The Catalog Vendor from Power Products Inc is what I use.)
