We have approximately 45 days until our first lease in the sim expires. At that time we'll have to present what goals we've achieved in the first four months and give our proposal for the next four months to Haney.
The fundamental goal of the project is to meet Haney Linden's challenge of creating a compelling destination for members of SL which beautifies and preserves the snow sims. Our original vision was to go beyond a typical group or themed SL build and to create an experimental community of artistic, ambitious, talented individuals who want to explore the limits of architecture, culture, and politics in Second Life.
I feel that we have certainly broken new ground in the area of architecture, culture, and politics. My only concern is that the sim hasn't become a destination for all members of SL yet. Things are starting to change now that Gwyneth is hosting events. I'd like to keep that trend going by challenging the provisional Representative branch to schedule some additional events, either regular or special, to help pull in some more members of SL. I'd like a couple of notable events to add to our list of accomplishments.
Next, Jacqueline suggested that we should begin a membership drive in SL as opposed to the forums. I would like all of you to try to recruit two or three people that you would feel would make a positive contribution to the city. It would be smashing if we could get our voting population up to 100 before the first election.
To increase the amount of visitors coming to the city I will focus on creating retail space that we can advertise as a shopping mall in the SL directory. Kendra is also working on a dedicated store for our Steins. We'll be creating these retail spaces next to the city square.
Finally, for those who are interested in promoting their parties in the upcoming election, now is the time to craft your proposals for the next lease. I consider a solid proposal for the next lease a critical part of every party platform.
