I hereby tender my resignation from the Neualtenburg Representative Assembly.
I have given this a lot of thought over the past few months, and I have come to the realization that my lack of participation in the governance of Neualtenburg (I have made it to only two weekly Assembly meetings since the elections) is not merely a function of its being held at a somewhat inconvenient time, but rather my own lack of interest. I spend a great deal of time in Second Life, but I find that I enjoy working on my own personal projects more than I've enjoyed dealing with the minutiae of running an in-world government.
It is patently unfair to the citizens of Neualtenburg for one of its legislative positions to be filled by a nonparticipant. I'm sure there are those far more dedicated than I who would love the opportunity to help steer this enterprise as it evolves, and so I must step aside and allow a more engaged leader to fill my place.
I still hold the citizens of Neualtenburg in the highest regard; the people behind the project have produced lovely architecture, interesting ideas, and no small amount of lively debate. I wish Neualtenburg and its citizens all the best, and I look forward to seeing what this committed, talented, and creative group does next.

There is no need for a public resignation or guilt over not doing a job assigned, given that this is just an informal experiment without land-bound citizens to serve. You are free to come and go. Good luck to you. As long as we're on the subject of group atrophy, I should also mention that Kathy Yamamoto has essentially left SL as well due to family/financial issues. I've recently signed up a couple of new members, one from the Thinkers (a great recruiting ground). Hopefully, we'll get enough interim interest to carry us through until the next phase of the project. If there are any deep thinkers out there that you know, invite them in. I'm very interested in seeing us make the jump from our LL sponsored land to our own private sim. I just sold all of my land and am ready to commit financially to the group as soon as we agree upon a course of action. Finally, I think we should officially modify the size of the RA (I know I've been pushing for that for a while). Any members who have never shown up (or shown up once) should be dropped from the RA. We'll count the number remaining and that will be its new size. ~Ulrika~

Chandra, it was nice to have you on the RA while you could One of the great things of the Neualtenburg project is that people may come and go, but the project remains. If we're able to keep it that way, that's the sign we are doing something right As to reducing the size of the RA, I think we could discuss it next Sunday...

From: Gwyneth Llewelyn As to reducing the size of the RA, I think we could discuss it next Sunday... Agreed! I have some other very interesting things to bring up too! (As a concerned citizen sitting in on the process that is. I still know my place -- I'm just having a strange burst of productivity.) ~Ulrika~
