Due to the recent "little critter" craze, Neualtenburg has set up a small town just for tinies under the marktplatz.

Aww you're all crazy!!
Eugene chowed me the "Secret Tinies City". It's simply too much ![]() ![]() ![]() We should set up the Marktplatz as listed under "Find | Places", and eventually have some more items for sale, specifically targeted for the tiny avatars... say, a mini-stein ![]() _____________________

The tiny Neualtenberg is even cooler than the people size one

The tiny Neualtenburg is attracting dozens of little critters and retailers. It's quite a blast down below. Today Eugene helped at least four or five folks set up shop and Kendra resized a little church opposite of the windmill.
What a fun diversion! ![]() ~Ulrika~ _____________________

How would you all feel about an expansion of the Tinies city for rental space?
I'm thinking I could push the ground down underneath the church, city stores and bank, Rathaus, and casino to create a large area which I could then join with a large parcel out on the plains to handle the prims. From there I could calculate the rough cost per area (really per prim) and put together a price list for folks. (Actually, I'd do the price list first and see how many folks would be interested). It might be a novel way to fill the rest of the way up rather quickly. The good news is that if interest ever wanes, it's easily reversible. What are your thoughts and concerns? ~Ulrika~ _____________________

How would you all feel about an expansion of the Tinies city for rental space? Rental in the commonly accepted SL sense of the word would, if I'm not mistaken, mean rental of a parcel (yes, it has a building on it. But for management purposes, you're renting a parcel). If you were to do the rental using a rental vendor, I'm sure thats the way it would work. And, of course, the use of prims in your rented space would be confined to what the parcel supports. (Sorry, I might be totally wrong about this. It's just that's what I've understood). Obviously, that would be difficult for this project. You would need to create parcels NOT under the Kirke, Bank and Warenhaus. And even the parcels under the platz would still have the prims for the objects above. This could be done, under the ownership of the Neualtenburg Raumnutzung (Neualtenburg Land Management group), but there are the obvious limitations. Alternatively, you could rent cubic space unrelated to the parcel the space sits on. In that situation, you really have no SL tools with which to manage the rental. The process would need to be done manually, where someone really did function as a landlord and collected the rent. There would be no mechanism to exclude a particular rentee's objects when someone didn't pay. That would enable the pooling of prims, in the way you suggest. We'd want to very carefully inventory our prims for each Neualtenburg Raumnutzung parcel, determine how many we want to keep aside for public use, and then assign each rentee a certain number. You're certainly right about using un-used prims in the valley... besides the already defined public spaces and roads, there are all the unsold lots which could be drawn from until the are sold. But, of course, prim use by rentee's would be entirely on the honor system. I can see no way at all to monitor their use. Except as a lump sum of all rentee's, and even that would be extremely difficult. If dwell was a more important commodity, this could be a great project. Already we've experienced a huge influz of visitors because of the Tiny City. Having rentee's would ensure continuance of visits, at least for awhile. I feel that it is an interesting idea, but one which presents a number of management problems. Anyone more familiar with coding than I have any ideas on how this might be handled? It would be nice to sustain the current excitement of the Tiny City as long as possible. It certainly has real benefits for Neualtenburg (even for us non-Tinys fans ![]() Sudane |
