The Sojourner is currently holding the Dreams Community Fair, a place where groups and projects dealing with the educational, cultural, and social areas have an opportunity to show what they're doing in Second Life, by using a booth and setting up some events (classes, discussion panels, presentations). Although it's entirely my fault for completely forgetting this event (I got the notecard announcing it well over a month ago!), we had luck, and still got a space at the "Educational Quarte", to present the Neualtenburg School. The trustees of the Neualtenburg School have seen the space, and this needs to be set up quickly (the fair is on its 3rd day now...), as well as having the School do a "discussion event" (Claude suggested a panel). I think it's safe to admit that suggestions are welcome

Why don't we do a panel on "Forum Moderation in Virtual Governments?"

From: Gwyneth Llewelyn .. I think it's safe to admit that suggestions are welcome If you mean suggestions for the booth space, I would think a tiny model of our fancy new school and some information would be all we need (as well as a place to sit of course) How about doing a panel at our actual school? Show it off?

Dianne, we should talk later. Claude, Sudane & Flyingroc (if I remember correctly) suggested something like setting up one of your Fachwerks (sized to fit) and have a "classroom" inside (Moon Adamant has also given me some "classroom" material inside, ie. benches, a blackboard, etc.). There is a reason for this: while I utterly love the Escher-esque, Gothic design of the School, and all the incredible texturising that it has, it does not "mean" much for most of the SL population. But place in a Fachwerk and everybody will associate it with N'burg

From: Gwyneth Llewelyn Dianne, thanks a lot for your build at the Dream Community Fair! FYI, here goes a link to how it looks like (the booth is at the extreme SW of the sim): It's quite exciting that we were able to participate in this at such a short notice. Of course I'm a trustee of the school and supposed to be informed myself of these things, but other things have been holding me up lately. I understand the Dreams Fair is an ongoing event - running to the 1st of May I believe. Is there anything planned regarding specific activities at the fair as a result of our participation? I'd love to assist in any way that I can although this week is a bit busy for me. I imagine any help from interested new citizens willing to represent the School and Neualtenburg at the fair would be most welcome as well. Let's get that community spirit up and working again ..
