Roberta and I scurried around the town Monday night, collecting house by house data about the houses and stores that are proposed for rental. Here are the results. Please use the modified Neualtenburg map attached for a reference to each individual lot.
Neualtenburg Residential Rentals Survey (and we covered commercial areas, too) Survey by Roberta Dalek and Sudane Erato February 21, 2005
All existing houses have received a code. The letter in the code refers to the color of the residential quarter (Viertal) ("B" for Blue, "G" for Green). The map which identifies each building is attached.
The notes.
All residential buildings are 9x9.5 meters, 26 prims. In general, they all need individual attention, because they look like they have been plunked down with no attention to the details which would cause them to be quality rentals.
B1: Entrance too low to walk in. Building overlaps with P3. B2: Snow on the floor. B3: Good condition. B4: Snow on the floor. Entrance very poor. B5: Building overlaps with G1.
G1: Building overlaps with B5. Snow on the floor. Museum structure in middle. Should this house be removed? G2: Huge pile of snow. G3: Huge pile of snow. G4: Huge pile of snow. G5: Edge of road overlaps into house. Lost prim needs to be removed. G6: Good condition. G7: Snow on the floor. G8: Overlaps building next door. Big pile of snow. Museum structure in the house. G9: Overlaps building next door. Huge pile of snow. G10: Overlaps building next door. Huge pile of snow. G11: Good condition. G12: Snow on the floor G13: Overlaps foundation of building next door. (While surveying these buildings, we discovered the dreaded "fall thru the ground" virus was rampant on the street in front of G11 - G13.)
LB1: Submerged. No entrance. LB2: Submerged. No entrance. LB3: Huge pile of snow.
P1: Entrance too low to walk in. P2: Overlaps building next door. Snow on the floor. P3: Overlaps building next door. Snow on the floor. P4: Good condition. P5: Snow on the floor. P6: Snow on the floor. P7: Snow on the floor. P8: Overlaps building next door. Snow on the floor.
While we were at it, we surveyed the shop situation. Here are the notes. All stores, except 6,7 and 8, were multi-floored with no access to higher floors. 6, 7 and 8 had such access, but their theme is different.
Store 1: No floor. Store 2: Snow on the floor. Store 3: Ceiling in shop way too low. Store 4: No entrance to this building at all! Store 5: Good condition. Used as Ulrika's shop. Store 6: Good condition. A shop for handbags. Store 7: Good condition. Store 8: A bit of roadway intrudes into the shop. Store 9: Good condition. Store 10: Surface textures flicker badly. Store 11: Snow on the floor. Store 12: Snow on the floor.
-------------- end of notes ------------------
Please comment and propose. An action proposal as soon as possible would be very desireable, perhaps by this weekend.

As we did the survey, we came to the strong conclusion that we should offer as high a quality rental as possible, so that Neualtenburg becomes associated in people's minds as a "high level" kind of place. So, anything you can do to "class up" the facilities would be great! Can the houses be equipped with "rental scripts"? Sudane

Sudane Yes we can set up rental cubes that tell the renter how much the rent is ...how long the lease is and what the rules are if any ...also how many orims they can use.

Will you be able to move the structures? I'm still not clear on the whole group sharing thing. As an aside, I'd like to keep the shell of the structure mine (but with free use for the projekt) so I was afraid to set the "share with group" flag. I'd like to start selling it and my more detailed version of it (that one is on my land) shortly. The complete home is a very detailed structure. If you are unable to move the structures, I can give a modifiable and copyable version to whomever wants to work on the structures, provided they don't distribute copies to other avatars. (It's my one true great creation in SL that I'll probably never have the time to duplicate again, so I want to hold on to it). ~Ulrika~

The server is borked! It was broken unintentionally in a perl upgrade or something and can't be fixed without a reinstallation of perl or perhaps the whole operating system. The work is planned for this perfect-to-fix-the-computer rainy weekend in SF. I've been told it will just take a few hours. ~Ulrika~
