I took a look around, and it's a really pretty place. It really does give a feel to the sim when things are built along a theme. It's not my sort of place, to be honest, but that's mostly because sometimes I'm not all that consistant with what I want. It is the type of place I would enjoy visiting, however. Rather than just being someone's house or club, it really felt like a PLACE. Well, if that makes any sense to you... Anyway, I'll be watching to see what you do with the place. Have you got plans for a tourist trade? Will people be able to drop in, buy up some sort of local (t-shirts or something) color and then head home? If so, I have a Hawaiian shirt and some gaudy shorts I can wear, and I can probably find a camera somewhere... I haven't read most of your posts here, but just from looking I'd guess that your two biggest problems are population and land management. First, getting enough people in there to stay, and finding some way to divide the costs between everyone. Are the land management tools versatile enough for you guys? And come to think of it, you say in another thread that the performance is up in the new sim by quite a bit. Does the zoning keep the lag down the way you want it to? You don't have to explain it here if there's another thread somewhere on the subject. Thread links are just fine. Gydeon.

Hey, the new website's up!

Looked in some of the N-burg posts, and found the website. I have to say, you make an attractive arguement for residence, and the pricing table is a very nice touch. Is it open to visitors yet? When can I go roaming around? And will there be a signature type of clothing for N-burg, such as the garb I see Ulrika wearing? Well, aside from the chicken hat, that is. Anyway, I'm really curious about how you'll look as you grow, so I'll be looking forward to dropping by occassionally. Gydeon.

One of the goals was to provide an alternative to the sprawl that fills most of SL by creating a planned city. It still needs quite a bit of work though. It's the little things that I need to finish up. From: someone Anyway, I'll be watching to see what you do with the place. Have you got plans for a tourist trade? In time perhaps one of the new citizens will start a line of clothing. As for me, my hands are full just trying to get the website up and running. It is very hard to keep a group of loosely knit individuals invested in a project such as this. That's why our next step is to move to a sim where we can actually sell a share of the sim and land. It will be a captive audience. It should be interesting. (Do I sound nervous?) As for the land tools, they can always be improved, although we're not far enough into the new project to say how. So far we haven't had much problem with lag. Despite the size of the city, it was the only thing in a large empty sim, so it was relatively snappy. I have heard that people experienced a lot of lag at first while the textures (we have a lot) were being downloaded. We'll see what happens when more folks move in. ~Ulrika~

It's not quite open to the public yet. I predict it will open by the end of next weekend, if we get the land zoned in time. Right now we're working out the issues with PayPal in the background (by email) and discussing how we're going to divide the land. Maybe once that's done, I'll start a line of clothing. ~Ulrika~
