Based on the approved budget, I'll try and post "request for proposals" (RFP's) for the authorized projects in the next day or so.

On a personal note, and I know that Gwyn shares my feelings about this since she nearly disrupted the meeting last night making such a racket about it!! :), the approval of the first budget for Neualtenburg is a really momentous event. NBurg has evolved from "a gleam in the eye" of Ulrika Zugzwang and Kendra Bancroft to a significant institution in the SL universe. I'm completely unknowledgable as to whether we have made any "firsts" in the larger world of human virtual reality, MMPOG's. But just meditating on our own history... the first transactions were in October 2005, surrounding the Octoberfest, so at that time the city was already in place... (I joined in December)... we've come a very long way to the point of an institution with a US$250/month budget, a fledgling governmental system, evolving musuem and church institutions, and a clear focus on our philosophical *and* economic underpinnings. This is truly a moment for celebration.

Hehe... who would ever thought of celebrating the passage of a budget! Well, at least we were fashionably late with it :). (Should have been in place on Jan 1.)

Bravo, all of us!

Now what kind of government would we be if we passed a budget on time? :)

In all seriousness, we could designate our budget half years to be March-August and September-February. This would allow the newly elected RA a month to get the budget done. Our fiscal year is, after all, when we make it to be.

True. I guess I'd agree with this. Only that "non-calendar year" fiscal years always make me confused :).

Maybe I should advocate elections in November and May :) ?

Hehe yes — when you read the transcript, you'll see I really was extactic about the budget :) Technically, the Guild is still allowed to veto it ;) but, as I gather this won't happen, I think that we can safely congratulate this term's RA for FINALLY having approved our first budget ever! :)

For better or for worse — way to go, RAers :)

And Sudane — you mean 2004, not 2005 ;)

As for the issue on the terms, as said, it's up to the RA to set those as they think if might work best for them. The SC remains silent (as long as a date is set) on this issue.

Which it of course has been. RA elections will be the week of July 15.
