I took a few minutes to explore the sim this afternoon, and noticed that Neualtenburg is surrounded by ocean. This was a surprise. I thought the whole project was envisioned as a way to revitalize a mainland snow sim. What did I miss?

From what I've heard, it was earlier this year. N-burg originally started in Anzere, which was a snow sim, and was founded on a large parcel donated by Linden Labs to allow for tighter, but self-run, theme control, as the snow sims where constantly being turned into snowy tropical paradises and such. At the beginning of 2005, LL withdrew it's support and the founders eventually bought an estate sim, which is where it stands now.

That's really too bad. The topography just doesn't work anymore. The cliffs help, but I dont feel like I'm near the mountains when I see water all around. Maybe it needs privacy screens on the perimeter. Of couse, with P2P teleport coming, it's not as if anyone will fly anywhere anyway.

P2P will be able to be turned on or off for private islands; while this is a matter that'll have to go up before the RA I myself would support turning it off, since we keep so much "visitor's info" in the city. In any case, the topography will work better when we add on more sims. _____________________

In any case, the topography will work better when we add on more sims. Exactly! And, Neualtenburg can now change with the seasons! We are going to winter and snow again any day now. Maybe already. I'm stuck with not being in world these last couple of weeks. But hopefully next week I will catch up. Also, aside from "looks", having a private sim affords us to much better utilize the land tools to make our government and other aspects of the project work. We are soon going to be adding on our 2nd sim. It will be no time I'm sure that the center of Neualtenburg is once again surrounded and has its "mountain" feel back again. Each citizen that stays and helps, gets us to that goal even faster! ![]() _____________________
