Was trying to get a look at the N-burg website, got a "connection refused". (Also tried ulrika's website, since - IIRC - they're on the same account, and predictably got the same thing.)

Is the webserver just under maintenence or is something wrong?

Fixed! I wanted to scan a document last night so I unplugged the scanner from the Linux server (connected by SCSI) and plugged it into my Apple (by USB). I do so dislike running X11, setting my display, and running xscanimage on the server.

I've been told that unlike USB connections, SCSI connections can't be broken while the computer is running. The server crashed shortly afterwards (unbeknownst to me) and was down most of the night. I guess I learn something new everyday. :D

Anyways, it's back up and running. :)

As long as we're on the subject of servers, I've been told that there is an upgrade in the works but with our busy schedules, who knows when it will come on line. (I guess in two to three weeks.) It will be done in parallel with the existing server so there will be virtually no downtime.

Yeah, hotplugging in general is a relatively recent invention, and SCSI especially dislikes that.
