I am wondering if this is first possible and second if someone would be willing to takle it.

I want a speech recognition (on type recognition :-) navigation system that works like this.

I would type in something like this.

ComputerNavigate sim1 111,111 XXX

ComputerNavigate would be the key word to activate the listening part of the system (I noticed this use in other scripts)

sim1 would be the name of the sim I want to fly 2. 111,111 would be the corrdinates in that sim that I wish to get to and XXX would be the desired altitude to use to get there.

is this possible ? Is anyone willing and or capable of tackling this ?

Thanks

I've seen scripts that can do this so I know it's possible.

It's probably quite a bit of work to put something like that together though, since you have to create a database of sim locations.

sims don't have anything like IP addresses ? but at least it sounds like its possible.

would be very cool for a chat ship. less flying more chatting :-)

There is an open-source pathfinder script here:

It will need some modification, but it should get you started.

I believe Christopher Omega did something like this. Unfortunetly, it remained nonphysical. It was made in 1.1, when it was harder to do. You might want to ask him about it, though.

Navigating balloons, helicopter and physical objects is easy. You just need to make sure the db is up to date, as Kex says.

Planes is more challenging, at least if theyre vaguely authentic, since they have things like linear deflection and so on.

Seems like the world got bigger in the last 3 months, gonna have to update my db a little...
