I want to build some homes for 512 plots and was wondering - are there any standard dimensions and prim counts that would generally work for people?

512m2 plots are usually 32x16

Also, remember that while a 512 M2 parcel gets 117 prims to use, the owner will need some prims free for furnishings. I wouldn't use much more than 50 prims for a house intended to go on a 512 M2 parcel.

I would say anything over 35 is too much for a 512 because you wouldn't be able to furnish it properly. Even 82 is very few prims to furnish a house with more than one room
oh and.. stay away from alpha walls when building ...even if it means making a smaller place... forgot that fancy advise.. _____________________

Great! That's what I wanted to know. Thanks!

Will do - I lived in a place like that in my first days in SL and it bugged the hell out of me, the way my hair would disappear, or I'd put a plant against the wall and see it vanish. . _____________________

search for the SALT hud on SLX (XstreetSL) and using that you can locate some 32x16 or close enough mega prims which will allow you to build close to the plots maximum dimensions and reduce prim usage.
